lavergne5
Just wanted to take a moment and ask for your prayers- LaVergne High School sophomore goalkeeper, Jaelyn Todd, was injured during last night's game. While playing a fantastic game against Independence High School, Jaelyn went after a ball and collided with another player with about 6 minutes left in the game. Good news - Jaelyn and LHS managed to save the goal. Bad news, this young lady was admitted to the hospital last night with 2 broken ribs and a punctured lung. She appears to be doing well, other than being bored and sore. Freshman keeper Kristen Hughes came in cold off the bench, and did a good job as well. Unfortunately, Independence managed to score a goal with approximately 1 minute left on the board. Final score: Independence 1 - LaVergne 0. Let's hope she returns to action soon. I'm sure her teammates miss her.

Heroic effort it sounds like, its moments of greatness like this (minus the injury) that I love to hear about..!! Great work, we will say a prayer for her recovery and well being.. lavergne5
Thanks, everyone. Jaelyn was released to go home tonight, they say she'll be out at least 4 weeks as they watch the lung and give her time to heal. I'm afraid she may be done for the season. Please continue to keep this young lady in your prayers!
