mykidsdad
I wasn't at the game to know for sure, but from talking to folk that were there seems Oakland came out strong for 2 quarters and then let down the last two. Sounds like the 3rd quarter letdown was alive and well and has plagued us all season. Of course, losing 2 games in the last seconds can be hard to overcome sometimes. From what I saw, if Oakland played them 10 times they should have beat them 12!

BGA is stil alive and well in the playoffs. Go Big Donnie and Marty U!!
TheAnswer21
More like 22 buzz saws. I do have one question. No disrespect, but how did yall not beat them by 50? They were really soft and slow with no game breakers. Franklin matched up much better with Oakland, they are better against a team with speed that throws more with more receivers than a giant team that lines up with two tight ends and a fullback that pounds the ball. Their defensive scheme was better suited for the oakland offense. Also, Blackman's defensive gameplan was much more effective against Franklin than Oakland's was. In addition, Blackman had much more experience and size than Franklin. Franklin starts only 4 seniors on defense, Blackman starts 10. Also, once Blackman got off to a big start, the Rebels clearly lost a lot of emotion and everything just snowballed. And finally, the 2 most important reasons: 1. Blackman was the best team Franklin faced all year and 2. Franklin played their worst game of the year Friday night. No disrespect to Blackman, they are a great football team, good luck the rest of the way.

Anyone who trashes Donnie Webb, especially some one from Franklin, deserves no respect. Webb gave 6 great years to the boys at FHS both on and off the field. He is an incredible D-coordinator and an even better person. That said, please don't compare the two teams in the playoffs. Franklin has played two of the top teams in the state in the state's toughest classification. BGA plays in a classification where every team makes the playoffs (12) and they have beaten two teams (St. Benedicts and Christian Brothers) that Oakland, Franklin, and Blackman would have beat by at least 30. I wasn't saying a word about Franklin.....just the poster who was from there who was really putting Donnie down in more than one post. That man means the world to my son and my family and I will have his back every single time. I have watched BGA play several times this season b/c he and Marty U are there, including when they beat Franklin. I will say Kudos to Franklin for knocking off Oakland. Best of luck to you next yr. lbhiii
330 to minus 49 in rushing yards with 7 sacks tells the story. Speed Kills! Good Luck to Blackman who is a red hot team right now. Tuff way to go out for the Franklin seniors..Good Luck to those great FHS players. Too bad Dr. Defense was on call in Memphis last night. 2 of Franklin's losses were to teams that rushed for over 300 yards on the ground. I hate to say I told you so so I won't. The Rebels had a good year with the talent they had but ran into a better team.

Christian Brothers was 9-1 and played a tougher schedule than Franklin. For anyone to say that a team that just lost 42-0 would beat them by 30 is ridiculous. AmericanBullDog
Actually we are still a Representative Republic. I disagree that we are socialist, I do think our government is taking on a lot of socialist tendencies, not the people. The good news is you sound like a great candidate to join the Tea Party movement. "Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both." ~Benjamin Franklin Tea Party Nation ~ Taking America Back One Patriot at a Time! huh...taking it back where?.....
