Defense was a little off the first game but they will get it with some work. They are still trying to figure out where they are supposed to be. They need to take care of the ball better on offense, take better shots and pass a little better. Overall they played pretty well for the first game and having so many guys who just came out of football. I think if they play ball, they will beat Tn High tonite.

If they run the floor this season as they have so far and once the football players get their legs, they will be hard to beat. NOT unbeatable but close IF they control the floor and play TEAM ball!

Not seen any 'me' ball yet. Hope we don't cause, as a unit, they are tuff!

Is the Hampton, TN. High game in Bristol? It said in the JC Press Basketball preview is was at Daniel Boone, dont know why though

Sorry '1, just saw ur question. It was at Bristol and the DOGS took the W. ....A bit sloppy and hesitation on offense but they'll get it together.

Hill is a MONSTER when he wants to be! Football players still a bit rusty. ...

Go Dogs

Offensively this wasnt a pretty game, the Dogs would build a 8-10 point lead, then Tn High would get back in it, then the Dogs would pul back out to a 7-9 point advantage. Once early on the third, Tn High pulled ahead by a point or two, but Hampton pushed back out to a comfy lead entering the forth, then just held on for the win. Last year in this game Tn High bombed away from the 3 point line and cruised to a win, so this was a good game for the Dogs to pull out. The final was 52-47. Hampton now has won their first two games to start the season, both over AAA competition, and really hasnt gotten anywhere near where they will be later in the season. Hopefully they can continue to improve and get their b-ball legs as the year goes on. This could be a special season for Hampton, they just have to keep their heads in the right place, and keep playing team ball. Go Dogs! :thumb:

I know that Hampton has other games to worry about 1st, but I see where they drew Wasilla in the Arby's!

I hope they are as excited about this match-up as many of us are!

I dont know just how good Wasilla is, but I imagine they are good... and why waste your time if you're not gonna be out to beat the best the field has to offer? :thumb:

This team proved they can play with upper division schools this past spring...just gotta get ready!

The DOG NATION is sure ready! :popcorneater:

    • Tax payer dollars are paid for certified teachers to "teach" and then coach. The primary job is to teach.  There are some district that ay awesome supplements and others that don't. Dyersburg and Dyer County are pretty close if I remember correctly. I would imagine that Football and basketball are above $10,000 now.  I've heard that Milan is $20,000 for boys basketball. I would imagine that football is more than that in Milan.  Collierville has camps that coaches get paid extra for. 3 camps a year, 100 kids a camp, $30,000 right there.  There are places like Memphis-Shelby County schools where the supplements are garbage even for the head coaches. I made less than $3,000 as the head assistant at Germantown in 2015 when we were 26-4 and one of the best teams in the Southeast. As a head middle school coach next year I will make between $4-5,000 at a municipal in Shelby County.  Coaches should be compensated for the jobs that are required but lets keep in mind that they are educators first.  It's pretty frustrating to other teachers that work their tale off teaching 6-7 classes a day to watch someone roam campus, not teach (or have very minimal responsibilities), and get paid the same (more with supplements) as a person who has the some years of experience or sometimes less.
    • This will get coaches leaving the profession very quickly if this kid wins this case. This is absurd...
    • yeah money aint right there anymore
    • I suppose you are correct but from my understanding it was going to be a situation of the HC saying yay or nay to every play
