Good to see LA take control of its own destiny. However, I am still saddened that we have been reduced to getting excited about escaping district games with a win and narrowly winning the district championship. That is assuming we win it. :popcorneater:

There's one thing that you don't have to be saddened about. We haven't been reduced to losing to a single A team recently. :thumb:

I am saddened by the continued negative comments debbie downer. Millers record-win pct is better than melton's this year. besides a win is a win isnt it and if memry serves me rite, LA has not been blowing out cannon or upperman on a regular bases. smith county is doing a fantastic job in dist play. maybe you should get on the train that truly enjoies watching the kids play inspite of your political views.

Did you seriously bring up win-loss records & win percentage? I won't get into the whole political thing again. Based on pure coaching Melton was the best. Anyone and everyone knows that. No point in bringing all that up again. I'm not going to do the homework for you, but go back and tally the margin of victory against district opponents while Melton was coaching and let me know what you find out.

If saying we are under-achieving makes me a downer, then I don't care to carry that title. I enjoy the game of basketball more than most. It is everyone's political views that have messed it up for these kids.

That is true. Losing to Smith Co. is just as bad though, considering they have been beat 3 times this year by a single A team. No shame in being proud of the victories though.

I believe if you'll check the records, you'll find that Smith Co. and LA have something in common. Their losses to single A teams were under their prior coach. NO single A losses by either team since the coaching changes. :D You're right about one thing though. There is no shame in being proud of ANY victory. I'm proud of, and proud for, these young men as long as they play hard and try to win. Don't you think it's time we put the bitterness behind us,swallowed just a little bit of our pride and had something good to say about these young men, without adding sarcasm to every post? :thumb:

I seriously did and did politics cause the kids lose all those games? melton has had nothing but pure talent and now there are no dunns, wests, smiths tj or todd. but i do think he was a good coach but its not the same this season. who is the leader on this team. coaches cant make leaders thats sumthing that your born with. this team has talentbut nobody is taking the team on their back like those mentioned have dunn in the past. are you on the train or not debbie

GREAT POST :thumb: I have great respect for Melton as a person and coach and im sad he is gone. I also have great respect for Miller as a person and I think he will earn my respect as a coach "Pleased so far". This is a different team than we've had in the past, its not a dominent team, wasnt under either coach. That is not due to the coaching or we would have beaten JC. Whats done is done so please for the sake of Huit, Melton, Hill, and Eldridge lets give these men our full support as every game is one closer to their last. This team can still make some noise!

Smith Co. will fade. Trust me on that one. I did a little homework. Melton vs. Cannon Co. 10 wins and ZERO losses. Avg margin of victory against Cannon=25 ppg. Melton vs. Upperman 12-2. Avg margin of victory= 12 ppg. Edited by sportster90

Thanks for the compliment. I didn't know the make up of the team THIS team had changed.

Yep, the make up of the teams from the stats you're referring to has changed. :thumb: Let me explain it to you in case you don't understand. Players who graduate, can no longer play with the team. LA has graduated several players that helped create the stats you're referring to. Now can you understand how the makeup of this team has changed or would you prefer someone draw you a picture? Since we're having this intelligent discussion: You never did tell me on the other thread if you "can" them coats and ties the same way you "can" fruits and vegetables.
