What is everybodies thoughts on this game. I believe that if Livingston plays like they are capable of playing they should win. But what is everybodies thoughts. This will be the first game of Class AA on Wednesday. I believe that Coach Miller will have these boys ready to play. He knows what it takes to win in this type of games. He has played in this type of game when he played in high school.

Here is some stats:

East Literature

points per game: 66.5

points givin up per game: 54.4

Livingston Academy

points per game: 64.5

points givin up per game: 59.5

Based on that I may be wrong but I am taking Livingston in a close one. Livingston by 6.

Gonna be pulling for la. I just don't think we can slow them down enough.

Hogeye can run a little if they have to. No doubt our best game can be played in half court, but these young men have committed themselves to do whatever it takes to win. No ONE can afford to underestimate them. :thumb: G-O-- H-O-G-E-Y-E

Kinda curious as to how much EL improved since last year, I noticed their record was alot better. IMO we are as good as we were last year and beat them by 20. I def am not counting on that happening again but hopefully we can match up! Dont think that we should run and gun but we have done well against the teams that like that style! I like how weve played up tempo but selective and unselfish with our shot selections. Any time 5 players are in double figures, 6 a couple of times, your gonna be in the game. There is a few games of EL on ihigh.com, they dont pass alot! Quick shots! They make alot of em! Defense is the key to a LA win!

If LA plays the way that got them there and has a strong shooting game in the start that will put them on there heals! Strong play between the two towers and that will keep them off balance and will have to run the ball weather they want to or not. GO HOG EYES FROM CANNON COUNTY!!! :D

Gotta Go with HOGEYE in this one. Better not be any of that stall ball mess from a couple weeks ago or it could be a long night for East Lit. LA needs to play four quarters of team ball. If they Play like they did in the Sub State Ill take them by 11. Unfortantly I will not be able to attend. They say the third time is the charm and its the Srs. third trip here so maybe this will be our long awaited year for a LA Boys Championship to match all the Girls. Its good to see the support from our district. But where are the E. Lit. fans at? Good Luck and GO HOGEYE! :thumb:

The Wildcats are playing their best ball right now and are jelling each game as a team. There are no superstars to speak of and that's why you see balanced scoring from the starting 5. I say just lay it on the line Wednesday and leave it on the court and I like our chances to win. It's ONE GAME at a time and who knows, we might just surprise some people.

Maybe E Lit doesn't have any fans. Or maybe they will do their talking on the floor. They didn't stall in the game you are rererring to. The other team did. LA by 20+.

    • Lee would have been a good choice, also.  I'm sure Benny was involved with the decision.
    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
