Livingston Academy vs East Literature

If you will do a little research, you will see Fulton would have been a better draw than E Lit. Fulton beat Stone by 3. The same Stone LA beat twice although they beat them worse under the old coach. Trust me when I tell you Fulton would NOT run E Lit. out of the gym. Nor would Bolivar. LA by 20+

I may be wrong but I think rockingchair was talking about the boliver and fulton teams from 2 & 3 years ago.

Fact is, any of the eight teams has a good case for being here! Are they the best 8 in the state? They never are. But all deserve it if they make it this far. Now its who wants it more and alot of luck as to is the last team standing! EL and LA has as good a chance as anybody, ones chance ends tomorrow! Go Hog-Eye!!

Yes I was youngman thank you lol....and Sportster I'm sure Fulton doesn't have anywhere near the team they had 2 yrs ago nor does Bolivar. Just saying that EL need not overlook the CATS because we are playing well at the moment. And like O K said we have a good as chance as any team. When you get this far it's one game at a time and unless you play bad and/or are simply outmanned any team has a chance to advance. GO HOG-EYE

Any time ole buddy! Us LA fans know all too well how things can go at the boro, thats why we wont overlook anyone. Two years ago we were ranked #1 in AA and deservingly so. That year we beat CLARK NE 2 times by 25pts and they put Bearden(the #1 AAA team) out of the tourn and we lost to BC by 20! ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN!! To all the Hog-eye nation and EL fans making the trip as I hope to, be safe! :thumb:...

Well "genius," I do recall those two teams being two of the better boys basketball teams I can remember seeing. I know East Lit. is not that caliber. Fulton and Bolivar, both great teams, could shoot it from anywhere. Could do anything they wanted to. I've seen a lot of East Lit teams. I hope they teach more than speed, because in the past, they've needed a lot more.

You can not teach speed. For the second time. It's hard for teams like LA to come from such a weak district/region and play kids that are much more athletic and have much more speed. Simply because they're not used to it. It's tough to do what you normally do when you feel sped up and out of sink the entire game.

Sweety, you make a valid point. That is why we go out of our dist/region to play west creek, red bank, clevleland, etc...The cats are ready!!!!

Great season LA! So close led pretty much the whole game. Just didn't close it this time. Credit to EL for not giving up! Refs made sure that Ramsey couldn't be the deciding factor! He dominated the inside while he was in. Jake, kailen,Hill, and Paxton, its been a privlage! Jake, that is one of the best games Ive seen a Wildcat play!

    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
