Got to watch Soddy in the 7 on 7 with East Hamilton this week. WOW...Canes looked great. They pretty much did what they wanted with SD defense, scoring @ will. Looked like they had good talent and depth @ QB and several receivers. SD didn't do to well, couldn't move the ball. I hear EH also has a strong fast tailback that makes the Offense a dual threat this year!

Anyone can "score at will" when the quarteback is given 8 seconds to through the ball. The four second rule for 7 on 7 was not inforced when you were on offense. I could have got open, no one can cover for that long. The one thing you had going for you is that you probably had the best pair of cornerbacks I have seen from any team at any scrimmage.

Soddy coaches had a stop watch and blew the whistle when it hit 4 seconds... East Hamilton completed 8/10 passes on their first possession with 3 touchdowns. The first 2 passes of EH's first possession were touchdowns. EH had almost everything going for them against Soddy.. With that being said, it's hard to tell how good a team will be from a 7 on 7. But EH's 1st team offense and defense controlled the 7 on 7.

Thats prety much what happen. Everybody takes different approaches to 7 on 7, some try to win and some try different players at different positions, bottom line is its a good practice tool to see what young players will step up. Also some teams play the run and try to be real and some just drop back 10 yds right off the bat because they know its gonna be a Pass. Some Coaches dont even like them, but at least u get to run with other teams and not against your own players. Really does not tell you much as far as a real game goes, but there still fun for message boards LOL

For anyone who was there and was not a fan of either team, this is the best post of the real outcome. If you incorporate a line to throw over then EH completes a fourth of the passes they threw. SD's QB struggled the first couple of series but came on strong as the schrimage came to a close. Both teams will look totally different once the pads are on and pressure is put on the QB's. Good Luck!

    • I have always known Clinton and the football team to be diverse. Not saying its like Knox but I would say more so than you're leading onto. Maybe more kids are wanting to play for a minority coach like that OL that commityed to Colorado over UT due to Deion "looking like him"- Jordan Seaton
    • It’s just the facts. Not sure how else to put it.
    • As a parent, this was always my worst nightmare.  I take it for granted every time I get in the car and took it for granted most of the time when one of my sons was on the wrestling mat.  Sometimes things are not "going to be fine". Jacob was wrestling in a Greco match at Iron Man when he was thrown.  He landed on his head and neck and shattered his C6 and C7.  His spinal cord was offset which is not good. He is currently at Vanderbilt Childrens in Nashville and has undergone a big surgery to brace his neck with pins and screws and realign his spinal cord, but damage has been done.  He is currently not able to move his legs or control his fingers.  I visited him yesterday and this young man has a long row to hoe. I'm asking the wrestling community here in TN to lift his family up in prayer and come together to help.  He will likely have to go to Shephard Center in Atlanta which is going to require his mom and dad to take off work, travel, eat out, etc. Jacob does have some feeling in his lower extremities, so we are praying he will be able to recover.  Time will tell and God is in control. If you are unable to donate $5-10, please offer up prayers for Jacob to heal completely and for patience and strength for his parents as they are no doubt dealing with a worst nightmare. GO FUND ME for JACOB   gofund.me/22e00da8 Thanks, Matt Sells - Blackman Wrestling
    • If you think the real players playing at Bearden are your typical Bearden kids then you live under a rock.
    • Reado came and then Smith left so he changed his mind. Where is the coordinator at? Cental with Lane?
