BattleCat
Actually alumni band geek dad x 2. We are worse than the band geeks themselves. I do love the game though. What is up with our band this year? They no longer play music but spend all their time trying to make the trampolines look like something normal for a marching band. I think someone has been over doing the caffeine during the off-season. I would love to see our band get back to playing music and showing off their musical talents. I predict a split Friday night. Owls football team wins with defense and the Cleveland Blue Raider band wins with playing music.

First let's talk a little football since I have already been accused of talking on the food network (I keed). This early in the season it is so hard to compare teams and the strength and weaknesses of their competition. There is no way you can compare Alcoa and Knox Catholic to Brainerd and East Ham. Later in the season we will be able to compare their strengths and weaknesses to more accurately tell how we did against them. All we know now is the Owls won both of their games rather handily and Cleveland lost theirs. I did not see the first game, but against East Ham the Owls had a good balance of running and passing and except when they had the big lead and lost intensity the D looked good too. The middle of the D line played lights out and except for a time our two the DE's and LB's had good containment. Secondary was not tested often. Thought they tackled well after catch. Kick Off and Punt teams need to maintain discipline and tackle better. Return teams were excellent. Now to the band. They are bringing back a show they did in 1996. The Owl band is a show band and likes to use props. They call it theater on grass. I too wish they would play more in the stands and please learn some new stand music. Mr Denton has been there 30 years so I don't think he is going to change. I predict Owls by 7 in a back and forth game. And yes I am looking forward to a BBQ sandwich. Trampolines are the worst idea i ve ever seen for a BAND..... kinda makes me wonder if i ve heard them play anything besides Rocky Top in 2 yrs.I know what the band is responsible for BUT play some music and keep us X-Band members/football fans fired up!!!! Cleveland will be tough to stop in the air all night long!!! DB s gonna get a work tomm!! In saying that i really do think the Ooltewah band is VERY VERY good while there playing at half just cut out the dog and pony show!! GOOSESDAD
Food, trampolines?Really, one of the biggest games so far and no cleveland fans are saying anything,no owl fans are saying anything, whats up with that? This will be Ooltewah's toughest test no doubt, but as good as our defense is we still better be on our toes with Voytik. As long as we pressure him and make him run more than he throws, the better. If we play as good on offense as we did last week, cleveland will be in dog fight. No predictions from me,do not want to jinx us.,.hope everyone stays healthy.Go Owls!!!! HornedOwl
Like most games it is going to come down to line play. Get after Voytik and don't give him time and it will be a long night for the Blue Raiders. Similarly Stevens needs some time to get rid of the ball. Last week we had a lot of short passes that turned into big plays, plus some big runs up the middle. Tried to do some quick research about Clevelands running game. In the one article I read it appeard Voytik was their leading rusher as well with 16 carries for 57 yards. If that is all they have for a running game and I am not saying it is, than the Owls should come out on top. Go Owls
Kevinsp
From what I have seen and heard, I haven't been impressed with Cleveland this year yet. The season is young though! I hope the Raiders come out tonight and give everyone something to talk about. This game could be a turning point for them. Good luck Raiders!
