Yes, SHHS is def one of the best teams in the area this year, and will be again next year as well. I have seen them play several times this year and they are just a very sound team all the way around and they are extremely well coached.

When you take a team that has that much talent on their roster and combine it with good coaching...the sky is the limit.

The game I want to see next is SHHS taking on Mt Juliet...should be a dandy!

I agree from what I watched, just simple good team ball playing. The coach uses each player well, and doesn't revolve the team around one player. I've not watched their coach very much, but appears to be a good coach. Team seems hungry and not over confident. Good luck to SH!

Franklin County Rebelettes win over the Kentucky's reigning state Champions, Rockcastle County

52-44.

Franklin County is in a Monster Region in Region 5. With Riverdale, Blackman, Oakland, Siegel, Lawrence County and Shelbyville, how could you be so lucky? it will be interesting to see how they do. I would say they were both ready to play. And remember the name Wilson County. You will likley hear their name again this year. Edited by PHargis

Agree, and Agree. It is a most interesting region for certain. Good to see alot of the middle Tennessee

teams stepping out away from their usual opponents and play other very talented teams from other states. The team in this tourny from Alabama, Bob Jones, has some serious D1 signees and went into the losers slots. Sports,

Anything can happen for any team on any given day...

I didn't get to attend the tournament, but would truly love to commend the Tournament Hosts on their VIRTUAL hosting of this event.

The RADIO announcers were EXTREMELY GIFTED and TALENTED, not letting a listener miss one moment of action.

The Up to the Minute STATS from Tusculum College were INCREDIBLE to have while listening to the games.

The Newspaper Coverage with game details and PHOTOS was some of the BEST online coverage I've ever seen.

ADD That all up and WOW, Holy COW! Impressive to say the least and the amount of effort on so many levels

is staggering. CLASS ACT all the Way Greeneville!~ Sounds like a VERY impressive TEAM effort on all media and physical fronts.

I'd also like to Congratulate the Franklin County Rebelettes on their incredible 3rd place showing.

BIG APPLAUSE to Mt. Juliet and Science Hill on their outstanding performances and 2cd and 1st places!

Lots of GREAT GAMES!

Thebballguru,

Do you have a final score? Congratulations to the Lady Toppers on the win!

I think the final score was 55 to 45. If SH keeps getting better with each game, they will be a legitimate contender for the gold ball. Good luck and stay healthy.

The tournament went well like always. Some local teams performed much better than expected, while other local teams struggled. Great competition as always.

It is obvious that Science Hill has bounded their way thru some of the best competition in the State and has now gained the respect of being able to be posted about in glowing terms as one of the best teams in the State. They beat MT. Juliet 55-45. This was a great Tournament, that was obvious. I am now putting a check mark by Science Hill to watch their progress the rest of the year. This was a big win.

This does not diminish the ability of Mt. Juliet. The Middle Tennessee contingent did a good job. Franklin County, Wilson County and Mt.Juliet will be heard of again.

A point of interest, Riverdale was beaten in the finals of the Georgia Peach Basket after having beaten the great Memphis Central team last week. Clarksville keeps winning as do a number of other teams who play great schedules.

    • Track has always been big at OR. Ran off about 7 straight titles in the 60s. Your hate for Gaddis runs deep, huh? What did he ever do to you, to make you disdain him that much? You can’t seem to stop talking about the guy. He’s living rent free in your head. Might wanna get that checked out. Not good to go to the grave with that in your heart.
    • This late in the year, you’d have to think they’d go with an Asst. on staff, right? I’m pretty new to the area so still learning how folks do things around here…if Woods stays there to teach, it could be hard on a new guy/staff coming in…
    • Well, your Big Western Hunt better turn up some Zebras to come graze on the Stones to make the jungle gametime ready again and make sure the plumber bros. still will come service the facilities at the Mecca. I hope your weekend is Fowl. Tell Rip hello from the Five Oh. Maybe the Gravedigger will catch a ride with Alphaniner on a flyover soon to BNA.
    • It’s not hearsay, just patently false. As one of those young coaches he apparently “ran off”, coach never once ridiculed or degraded anyone. Sure he challenged kids and coached them very hard,  but we have different definitions of you call that degrading. Coach Hammontree changed my life when he gave me the chance to work for him. I learned more about being a man and caring for the people around me in 4 years working for him than I did in 20 years of my life. No one sacrificed more than he did. I left Heritage because I felt there would never be the support necessary to help the program succeed. I’m tired of hearing people drag others down especially those they truly don’t know. Coach has moved on and a new coach is there. Just let the man live and root for the team.
    • Waiting on the Great One.   White Horse and Rip have a big weekend in the woods, and the Sheriff is working the overtime here.      Turkey season awaits…..Big Gobblers everywhere.
