Who was and why didnt he take it?

Many jobs do not get their first choice. It may be that he did not meet the teaching assignment position needed or the one he wanted . Maybe he could not get the coaches he wanted to bring with him. Maybe after the interview he did not want the job.Sometimes a coach does not want certain assistants already there and told they will still coach. Maybe pay\benefits are less. There are many reasons coaches decide the job is just not right. Edited by FBWizard

Also, coaches oftentimes interview with the sole intention of strengthening their hand at their current position. In the previous coaching search, one outstanding candidate had all the credentials the committee wanted- but did not have a Tennessee teaching certificate and thus could not be hired. WillCo has strict criteria for being a head coach; possibly the "first" candidate could not/would not fulfill the requirements.

All that being said, it is unimportant at this point: The Bruins have their new leader who is excited about the opportunity, tradition, and challenge.

DAD1, the only thing worries me is that "WingT" comment- what in the name of "Air Whittemore" is going on????? Do we need to get back involved again????

It looks like Pemberton tailors his wing-t offense based on the talent he has. At Macon County, his running backs were not as good as his Knoxville Catholic running backs; but he had a really good QB and two really good WR's- therefore he used a lot more pass plays at MC than he did at KC. Based on this, I would think he will run more of his MC offense at Brentwood; now that the Chu-Chu train is gone. BHS still has some good backs, but they lack the size needed to be a run every down kind of team like they were last year.
