My top 5 would be.

1.Coach Smitty-In House,Very well known in the community has had alot of success being an assistant with the boys under John English

2.Todd Whittemore-Johnson County head coach, has probably got more out of his team based on their talent than any coach in the conference. He's a really good players coach with alot of patience.

3.Kenneth Chambers-Former Unaka head Coach,Assistant at Cloudland for 2 years,Very good knowledge about the game and he know's how to win in big games.

4.James Buchannan-Head coach at North Greene,Applied for last years position and has a real good resume with what he has done at North Greene.

5.Jordan Simmons-In House,Assistant girls coach this year, did a good job with the middle school boys program 2 years ago and has great knowledge about the game.

I dont know much about your #1 and #5. But #2 cusses like a sailor - heard him using F word several times with in a 2 minute stretch one time - be ready for that. #3 - didnt he get let go @ unaka for illegal practices - at a elementary school or something? #4 Hes a good man, had no idea he applied for that job last year. How sure are you about that?

All of these guys can coach though.

Great Success?? Some Success Yes, but our middle school has lost to T.A.Dugger for the past 3 yrs. This does not look good for us against our biggest rival. You can bleed the colors but got to have the results. Look at Fulmer.

I know he only had one national championship and one of the best winning percentages ever. Only time will tell and my opinion is it was a good hire.

They have split some of the regular season games, but Unicoi County has gone farther in the tournament(s) than T.A. Dugger in 2 of the last 3 years, with this year being the exception when T.A. Dugger won the whole thing. That group is absolutely loaded! Unicoi won the Sectional in 2011, even though T.A. Dugger was probably the most talented team in the area, and 2 years ago, T.A. Dugger didn't even make it to the sectional while Unicoi made it with only 2 8th grade players. Elizabethton is probably more talented, and will be for a few years, but Kerri has a way of getting the most out of her players, and they always play their best at the end of the year. Good luck Lady Devils!

Isn't T.A Dugger mostly a county team? Or will Eliz. continue to recruit them away from their home boundries?

No. Five of seven 8th grade girls that will likely pursue playing in high school live in the city. Another has gone to ECS all her life. The final girl moved to TAD in sixth grade from the county. This has nothing to do with recruiting and everything to do with parents/kids making a choice. EHS lost probably the best freshman in the region last year to a county school, so players come and players go. By the way, will Unicoi continue to bring in foreign exchange students in order to maintain TRC tennis dominance (I don't really care, but couldn't resist injecting a little humor into the post)?
