Just saying, one of those teams won by 1 point in overtime against a team that went over 8 minutes without scoring.....I wouldnt boast too much because it very nearly didnt happen that way, in fact it was a missed shot at the buzzer that allowed both teams to play in the title game

don't remember a missed shot at buzzer that anyone had against JC in fact they had no game in state that was even single digits. Clay co would have beaten any team in tourney 20 plus that one night and was the best in the finals and deserved to win.

Agreed! There was not a team in A basketball that would have beaten Clay Co. in that state championship. JC plays better defense than anyone in the tournament last year but Clay simply could not miss on that night. Clay jumped out to a lead and never lost! People can say what they want, but this speaks volumes about basketbal in district 7a. It made the 2nd time in 5 years that 2 teams from 7a faced each other in the state championship, 4 out of the last 5 years that a team from 7a has won a title, and Clay Co makes the 3rd team from 7a in the last 5 years to win a title. As I said people can say they came close or whatever, but NO district is as strong as 7a!

Clay co was on a mission and no one I mean no one could have stopped that mission. All eight teams had their chance but Clay played like champions from start to finish.

clay co. would have really been unstoppable if ogletree had of been in the mix . she would have been on that all state list as well too.

You got that right!!!!!!! Ogletree and Roach were quite a duo, I always enjoyed watching her play, she was one of the best defensive players I have seen play

    • I think the OC is a guy the he brought from Fulton with him. I am not sure though. I have heard a lot of conflicting information. It seems like a couple of coaches that he hired have since been let go.

    • If someone needed their grades pumped up surley it would have to be for someone needing it to get to another level. If your intending on going to work right after high school it wouldn't matter. Why would someone in their right mind think if they screwed it up in high school that their ready for college. It has to be for an athlete to get them over the fence to get in and from that point the school their going to will cheat them through the rest of the way for their athletic skills just like the rest.
    • The new school will be on that road behind Home Depot next to a church. I'm wondering if this could take from Greenback or could it be the end of Greenback, they only have 200 students.
    • Yeah it will take the county kids in that area that were going to lenior city. They will move down to 4a I think
