Regions 2

It is a toss up this season in Region 2 District 3. Who will win and go on to play the powerhouse DoD teams? Will it be the defending State Champions ( HVA ) ? Will it be the young and upcoming Oak Ridge Cats? I heard that Central had a solid team. Whoever does win will have to hang with the best teams in the state when it comes to the region tourney. Catholic, Bearden, Farragut, West, etc. are looking like state worthy teams, as usual. There has not been any talk lately about who will advance into this region tourney. ANY THOUGHTS?

Maryville 3, Catholic 1

Bearden 2, Farragut 1

District Final will be played at Bearden on Friday. What about the other side?

Update for final: Maryville and Bearden both very hot. Bearden bounced back after WB tie, Maryville finding stride with Caleb Lucas healthy and stride. Tied in regular season...look for a photo finish.

Maryville/Catholic game...excellent job for rebels. maryville finished chances and played both sides of ball. hats off to Catholic. Tough way to go down but are a great team. Interested to see where Tim baker is going???

Other side: HVA is hitting stride at right time...beat maryville recently, but game was pretty even...HVA won in final minutes...know nothing about Karns or Central??? Oak Ridge is capable of beating either Bearden or Mville but had fits with Caleb Lucas the first go around. Good luck to all sides...what an unpredictable region.

That Bearden/Maryville tie was the game where the ref decided that there should be 10 minutes of stoppage time...of course, Bearden tied it in that time. Glad Maryville is playing as a team now. First half against Alcoa last week was pretty awful for them.

What happened to Oak Ridge ? Out in the semifinals... seems like they would make it every year in such a weak district. Does anyone know what happened this season? Please POST! I didn't get to make it out to any games this season. Thanks

They are a really young team, that actually had a pretty good season. Beat Catholic and had close games with several strong teams. Because of a loss in district regular season (to Karns, I think), they had to face Hardin Valley in the district semis. Lost 2-1. I got to watch them play a couple of games and they have a lot of promise.

    • Yep..could possibly have 3 teams ranked in top ten in the same four team district.
    • He had an opportunity to be the OC at TC without final say in the offensive gameplan. How does that work? Smh. Head Coaches are public figures regardless of the community size, and yes there are some out there, it’s irrelevant and not fair to them to name them on here. Also why is said “head coach” the head coach of the MS baseball program to begin with? Oh because no one wants it. As for the Lebanon question, I know what I’ve been told so just going off here say, some of the boosters were not happy with his roster decisions and wanted him out. Although he lead them to 20+ wins in multiple seasons
    • A head coach in the school system? No I dont think so. Head coaches are public figures in small communities. Not trying to slander, but this is an actual question. Do you know why he was forced to resign at Lebanon? This was his second chance.  He already left trousdale once and had an opportunity to come back a couple of years ago but spoiled that.
    • Are you perfect? Nope no one is, at the end of the day there are several teachers/coaches and even some in the Trousdale County school system that have DUI’s on their record. You’re correct on it being a bad mistake and it unfortunately could have ended horribly. While you consider the consequences minimal, I can assure you they are not. Ultimately I hope and have faith that he will learn from it and use it to better himself.
