This is a long story but I hate not to tell it. I don't know if any of you guys remember this guy or not, but I played against him in high school and then watched him play in college. One of the most exciting players I have ever seen. I saw the old posts and the funny thing is, I have been seeing this guy for almost a year and did not realize it. He has a shaved head and has put alot of muscle on. Anyway, I have been seeing this guy spare every morning at 7am for about a year with the lead instructor at my gym, who was the national champion on ishinryu karate for 2yrs. What I really noticed was that to be so big Jeff moves like a big cat and can still jump like he used to. I have never talked to him but I did talk to the owner/instructor. He did not know that Jeff used to play college ball, but he has never seen anyone work as hard as he does. They usally go at it for about an hour then Jeff starts his workouts. You would have to see it to believe it. He jumps rope for 3min then rests a minute (while resting he cranks out 30 pushups) *3. Then he runs 2miles. Now he starts with the weights. I have seen him bench over 400 and squat over 450 after all the sparring, jumping and running. I guess the main reason I had to tell this is because the owner did not believe that Jeff could dunk a basketball and I told him to bet Jeff that he couldnt. The next morning after his workout Mike asked Jeff if he could dunk and Jeffs reply was" I used to about 10yrs ago but he did not know about now". They went into the gym, Jeff picks up a ball walks to the free throw line dribbles twice and does a reverse slam and walks out of the gym. Like I said unbelievable. This guy has to be in his mid to late 30s built like a linebacker and can still do what he used to do in the 80s. This guy would inspire anybody to work harder. Buy the way, he gives Mike a run for his money every morning and has never even practiced the martial arts, or so Mike says.

Jeff is 34 or 35 tops. He was in law enforcement in Cookeville. He is also one of the better softball home run hitters around. I can remember being at the old East-West Tennessee all-star game at Vanderbilt in '86. Guys like Sylvester Gray that later played for the Heat and Ron Heury and Larry Marks that went to Arkansas were playing. The teams were warming up and everybody was dunking. I was sitting in the middle of a group from Columbia. I told them to watch the shaggy headed white-boy get up and they all just laughed. Then he went in and brought it down, touched his shoe with the ball and hammered it down. He made them believers right there.

Played against Jeff in school. He was real little early on. He had a younger brother who was quite smaller than him also. Jeff had a work ethic that was legendary around here and it paid off. He is a perfect example of how hard work pays off.

i have heard stories of how nobody used to be able to touch jeff in basketball. unfortunatly i wasn't around to see him play, but i have played softball with and against him. i have seen him hit balls that would make ur mouth hang open. in excess of 400 ft, and for those who have played, u know how hard that is. u can tell he is an natural athlete, and his work ethic is unparalleled. on top of all that, he is a great guy. so just to agree with the others, believe what u hear about jeff arms.
