Franklin Co pulls away in the 2nd half and wins 27-6. Lebanon put together one nice drive to tie the game at 6-6 in 2nd qtr. Then they squandered a chance to grab the lead after an INT gave them possession at the FC 16 but the Blue Devils missed a FG.

I'm curious turnthepage, do you think Crane will be the coach at LHS past this season? Because the first year and two games of his tenure have been a nightmare. I've said before that I thought it was time for a change after the 2010 season but I cannot believe Troy Crane was the best that Lebanon could do. If he was then the administration should have told Bobby Brown they made a mistake and begged him to stay. He was twice the coach Crane is. 0-10 for LHS in 2012 is looking more and more likely. Franklin Co. is not one of the better teams they'll play. How can they keep Crane around if no improvement is being made in the program? Tell me what I'm missing here. Why should I be excited about the direction of Lebanon football under Troy Crane?

No, I don't think he will be the Coach next year. Personally, I don't know him and he may be a great guy but as for moving the Lebanon football team forward it doesn't look as he can make that happen. Lebanon High School football needs to be taken out of the hands of some of the COUNTY ADMINISTRATORS! Obviously, if they had such great knowledge of the game of football, they would be coaching football instead of sitting on Stumpy Lane in an office or where ever they roost during the day. Lebanon High has the ability to do great things, if some people would back off and let them. What you have now is a classic case of you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours.

    • Lee would have been a good choice, also.  I'm sure Benny was involved with the decision.
    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
