The district is down as a whole, Grundy, Sequatchie, Chattanooga Christian all graduated a lot of players. Grundy started three freshmen one game I saw and Sequatchie graduated six seniors, four who were full time starters. Bledsoe, I expected to be the favorite, they have a losing record but have played some good teams including McMinn Central twice already. They've also had some injury issues.

I just got curious and looked into Gabriel Christian. Wow. I know it's good to teach kids to not give up and to try to keep going, but I have to say it might be time to not have a girl's program there until things can get changed. I hate to say that because I understand you have to play to get better, but come on...

We just beat them 69-10 I'm guessing that was while giving young players time. Last Friday Brentwood Academy beat them 86-5. All the scores are horrible. I think there is a point when you begin to break the kid's will to want to play anymore when you consistently get these kinds of losses week in and week out. Also saw where they had to forfeit games for whatever the reason.

DCtiger get a clue. Do u believe that. Ask anybody. We play them 4 times are u serious. How bad does Pat Cope want to win. Heard Cripps had a whopping 2 pts tonight vs Cookeville.

Guess that wasnt Gabriel Christian guarding her. Listening to radio during girls game is awful. Something is up between Pat Cope and announcer kid. Im coming tomorrow.

Cookeville is a pretty good basketball with Robinson and Goolsby. Add the two freshman and watch out.

I agree. I'd like to be at the CHS/White County game since they're having a good year as well and are big rivals!

Stealer, if he was so adamant about playing GC, why would he want to be in the same bracket as Cookeville? Even Cannon is going to have their hands full with them.

DC is playing another solid team today in Rhea County. Best of luck to the Lady Tigers.

Beat a 7th place team in district 8-AA by 1pt when DeKalb should have probably won. So in my opinion they are average. Look at Notre Dame came to Warren Co 10-1 and loss all 3 games. Chattanooga girls basketball not as strong. Rhea may end up being great i sure hope so. Best of luck Rhea. Pat Cope had the girls ready.

Rhea had 1 win vs a team with a winning record before beating DeKalb. Right now I'd put them behind Bradley, McMinn and Cleveland in the district. Walker Valley is still rebuilding and the other two are struggling still. The other team they beat with a winning record, Warren County, also has a weak schedule, I was really surprised to see a Class AAA team have so many Class A, non-TSSAA, and non-competitive opponents on their schedule.

I agree it definitely seems like Chattanooga girls basketball is not very strong this year. Notre Dame got crushed by 7th place team in our district and Rhea escaped with a 1 point win. If it were the top teams in the district it would've been very bad. I've heard our district compared to the SEC in college. We beat up on each other, but in out of district play we are usually very prepared.

    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
    • Are you trying to say you didn't find Seven and ShadySlim going at it?
    • hey goat! how’s monterey looking this year?!
    • several people actually. they said “snoball, do you know who railbird81 is on coacht?” I said, “never heard of her.” they said, “you ought to check it out they’re getting fired up on there like the old days.” well, you can imagine my disappointment when I came here expecting sharp, witty banter and all i found was more akin to toddlers slap fighting. and what looks like 1 guy/gal talking to themselves with multiple accounts.
