everything of course is always gossip but i have heard that the rhea county people are very pro-active and really plan on committing to the football program and making it successful, they have some great applicants it seems that they are focused on rhea county products, really not a bad one in the bunch...good luck eagles, the next couple of years could be really great

Why would Fitzgerald come back? He has the whole Hixson community excited about football again and with East Hamilton gone has a shot at winning the district this year. Allen has coached at every school in the Chattanooga area he is not going to stay long if he does come. Go out and get a young coach and give him time to build a program. Rhea is a long way from where everyone wants them to be and it is not going to happen overnight.

because hixson is a dump

Your pretty little turf field and new school dont win ballgames, talent does and there is not much at Rhea County. Hixson returns all but 3 players from a playoff team and the best team in the district from last year is gone. I would rather hear "You have a great team" than "Boy your field is nice". Hope you guys find a good coach and he can turn Rhea back into a winning program.

Hixson with Fitz is an up and comming program. They have pretty good stadium..... and everyone knows that the good player teeter between Soddy, Red Bank, and Hixson, good strides in getting them back to Hixson. As for the school its self the Admin has been working on cleaning up some of the trouble makers. I see Hixson on the move up. Edited by chattacane

It'll shake things up if Coach Fitzgerald gets this job. :popcorneater:

I can only hope, for the sake of the entire Rhea County faithful, that John Allen doesn't matriculate his way back up to Evensville. I wouldn't wish that evil upon the good folks of Rhea County.

    • He may have possibly said that to get the best out of him. Back when I was in school word got out I was going to transfer and Coach Story popped off and ask Coach Wilson in front of the team if Maryville was going to get a jock strap in return on this trade. That got back to me and I got fired up and stayed just to show them up. Now today Coach Story is one of my best friends.
    • Dylan's Dad, I'm glad you replied. I wanted to reply but wasnt willing to take the bait. There were 20 wrestlers on the team. I may be mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 5 of the 20 attend McCallie right now and one will next year. At most, there are/were 6 kids on that team who attend McC. That leaves 14 other team members who have ZERO affiliation with McC (outside of maybe some friends) who represented our state to the best of their ability and wrestled their butts off that weekend. That weekend was a first for Tennessee and obviously a small step in the right direction for us as a state. Congratulations TEAM TN BLACK!
