Region 7

Guys Region 7 is tough this year. Be proud!! I know that you guys are afraid to talk about your teams on here... but the tight lipped and the lets keep a secret approach is killing wrestling. We cannot promote the sport if we don't let people know who is wrestling. Come on Man!!!!

On the region V thread it seems similar, but it is gratifying to see a few up & coming programs go out & compete well against defending state champs even though battered & with holes.

 

Like some of the GA folks have alluded to, I think the divisions do water down things as far as true tests & champions, but perhaps the popularity grows overall. More enthused fans... We shall see!

Butler went off the mat and was throwing up after losing a close match to Knier. Their first match Butler pinned him. I suspect the latter to happen again with a healthy Butler.

Region 7 updates....Beech has strong showing in Indy Duals today. Defeating Brentwood Academy and Centennial in pool play.... Advancing to winners pool with Ryan, Beech, MBA, Scotsboro Alabama. In semis- Ryan beat Beech and MBA beat Scotsboro. In final Ryan beat MBA and Beech Beats Scotsboro for 3rd.

Huddelston has gotten smoked by Binns twice already. I believe Binns TF him today at Independence. And what's this rumor I hear about Binns transferring to Wilson Central or Ryan next year? Seems he would be a deadlock for a state championship in A/AA the next 2 years at Sycamore.
