I remember that happening to those two girls against Lebanon, but they played against McMinn the best I remember? I'll agree they probably weren't at 100% against McMinn, and if the young lady with the ACL tear didn't play or wasn't at full speed then I didn't see the better Grainger County team playing now......so maybe Grainger is a lot better than I thought. And I'm not implying Grainger wasn't a good team at the Christmas Tournament - obviously they were since they won.. I was just trying to say the teams they played at the Christmas Tournament in Sparta aren't "very good" teams - and that includes McMinn County.

Our opinions are our opinions, and as you say, the games will be played on the court. I've always felt that any team making it to State has a shot to win any game with good coaching strategy and the players executing. Grainger is 31-0 and should definitely be considered as one of the favored teams to win it all this year.

Looked like everyone was healthy in the 15 point loss to the Elizabethton Lady Cyclones last night. Grainier now stands at 32-1. I think those Cyclones are for real. Our freshman team is 172-0 since the 6th grade have never lost a basketball game and they played teams from Science Hill Kingsport and Bristol. Grainier saw the Reazyn why, with the play of the Freshman Twins.

WRONG! Grainger's starting point guard tore her ACL in the last game of the regular season. Another backup point guard has been out all year with an knee injury and wasn't dressed out last night. And the point guard that they did start last night is just now coming back from an ACL injury and is about 60%. Before you give me the song and dance about losing three senior starters off of your team, I want you to stop and realize that you are now a better team minus those players because it freed your coach up to play the freshmen twins more. Losing Depew hurt you some, but the other two were addition by subtraction and it created an opening for the freshmen who should've been starting from day one. If all those seniors stay healthy, your coach would've never played the freshmen as much. And if he had of, he would've had a senior mutiny and team turmoil on his hands. Grainger's injuries have taken a toll, at the PG spot. Not an excuse cause, elizabethton won fair and square, and they're fortunate to have the depth of having the twins available to plug in. But you are wrong to say everyone for Grainger is healthy. Truth is if both teams were completely healthy, and all your seniors were still there that began the season, Grainger would've stood a better chance. They would've matched up better with that team than the new version with the twins on the floor. FACT!

In Class A, your favorites will be Jackson County, Summertown, Union City, and Clarkrange in no particular order provided all 4 make it to the glass house

I think you got it dead on. Hope these teams can avoid first round match ups as this would be an exciting final 4.

Hum, Isn't the Middle school in Elizabethton County wide? 172-0 Now how did they convince all those girls that live all over East Tennessee and all of Carter County to attend an Elizabethton city school. Is that what is called recruiting? Sort of sounds like it doesn't it.

    • From my understanding, Jay Graham pretty much took over HC responsibilities in that game, so you can thank him. Cute Andy didn’t need help, though. Cute Andy could’ve beaten us without any assistant coaches.
    • Tax payer dollars are paid for certified teachers to "teach" and then coach. The primary job is to teach.  There are some district that ay awesome supplements and others that don't. Dyersburg and Dyer County are pretty close if I remember correctly. I would imagine that Football and basketball are above $10,000 now.  I've heard that Milan is $20,000 for boys basketball. I would imagine that football is more than that in Milan.  Collierville has camps that coaches get paid extra for. 3 camps a year, 100 kids a camp, $30,000 right there.  There are places like Memphis-Shelby County schools where the supplements are garbage even for the head coaches. I made less than $3,000 as the head assistant at Germantown in 2015 when we were 26-4 and one of the best teams in the Southeast. As a head middle school coach next year I will make between $4-5,000 at a municipal in Shelby County.  Coaches should be compensated for the jobs that are required but lets keep in mind that they are educators first.  It's pretty frustrating to other teachers that work their tale off teaching 6-7 classes a day to watch someone roam campus, not teach (or have very minimal responsibilities), and get paid the same (more with supplements) as a person who has the some years of experience or sometimes less.
    • This will get coaches leaving the profession very quickly if this kid wins this case. This is absurd...
    • yeah money aint right there anymore
