Tennessee HS volleyball lost a true friend and supporter this week when Mr Phil Hargis of Nashville passed away.  As you look through the many threads here on the subject of Volleyball he started many of then...  Even if you didn't agree with his opinions (and he didn't mind) he was a huge supporter of this great sport.  Phil Hargis, may you rest in peace...

Sad to hear of the loss of Phil at the Siegel /Bwood game tonight,He will surely be missed,It was always a pleasure to speak to him at matches,His 3 Siegel granddaughters always had the proudest Grandad at the gym,He made CoachT fun for many years.I wish everyone made the effort to watch their children/grandchildren play as Phil did. Rest in Peace Phil.

I did not know Phil Hargis personally, but I read his opinions on CoachT.  As bb317 said whether you agreed with his opinions or not, he will be sorely missed.  High School volleyball is a very competitive sport as they all are.  But i hope in the end everyone realizes that high school sports is but one aspect of our children learning how to grow up and face the world.  Mr. Hargis always brought up good questions concerning our wonderful sport.  I hope that in the end we will ALL respect each others opinion whether we agree with it or not.  Phil Hargis epitomized that in all ways.  May he rest in peace in the arms of the Lord for eternity.
