bb317
Tennessee HS volleyball lost a true friend and supporter this week when Mr Phil Hargis of Nashville passed away. As you look through the many threads here on the subject of Volleyball he started many of then... Even if you didn't agree with his opinions (and he didn't mind) he was a huge supporter of this great sport. Phil Hargis, may you rest in peace...
orcat
I hate to hear that. How did he pass? Is there anywhere his family would like us to send a donation to on his behalf? He was a great voice for volleyball.
sshsvbdad09
Sad news confirmed with an obituary in the Tennessean. Yes, his posts may have been excessive and often rambling, but who can deny his support for this sport that can ill afford to lose it. Think I'll start cheering for Siegel VB. beachboy
I did not know Phil Hargis personally, but I read his opinions on CoachT. As bb317 said whether you agreed with his opinions or not, he will be sorely missed. High School volleyball is a very competitive sport as they all are. But i hope in the end everyone realizes that high school sports is but one aspect of our children learning how to grow up and face the world. Mr. Hargis always brought up good questions concerning our wonderful sport. I hope that in the end we will ALL respect each others opinion whether we agree with it or not. Phil Hargis epitomized that in all ways. May he rest in peace in the arms of the Lord for eternity.

TheGreatLineJudge
I'm terribly late to this, but I regret to hear the news. Phil was a good man - it was always a pleasure to see him in the hallway. Late condolences to his family.
