Intense yall's running back impressed me tonight. He makes teams have to stay honest. Y'all's defense isn't the best but does make plays when it needs to. Y'all have a very good team that is dangerous. A little undisiplined at times but still very dangerous.

Thanks Black and Gold. I agree Goldsmith is a dangerous RB. Bond is as well. You made a great point about our defense. They make stops when needed. We did it against Adamsville and did it against y'all tonight. That's two top notch teams that have a lot of weapons. Our D really only gave up 30 points. The other 14 were due to INT and kickoff return. 30 is a lot but when you can score like we can sometimes that's enough. Town of Trenton should be very proud of their football team and should be thankful for a great coach. He knew what he was doing!

It was a privilage to call this game on the radio tonight.  It was one of the most exciting high school games I have ever been involved with in my  51 years on this Earth.  I compared this game to one of the Ali v Frasier fights.  Both teams stood toe to toe and simply threw haymakers at each other all night long.

Congratulations to TCA quarterback Kyle Akin as he, according to my stats, moved into 9th place on the TSSAA all time passing yardage list.

Trenton has nothing to hang their heads about.  I promise they are better than some of the teams still playing.

What a great game.

We are very proud of our Tidemen and our coach is top notch. We're gonna be dangerous for the foreseeable future. My nephew's sophomore class is loaded with talent and my other nephew's 8th grade class is too. The future looks bright!!!

.

We will probable battle again the next two years as most of our players are Sophs and Juniors. We only had two Seniors playing tonight. My son was #5, Wide Receiver and Kicker. Is your little RB that is so fast and shifty a Senior. Lord, I hope so!!!

TCAIntense may be a little over zealous but that's called being a fan. Every fan thinks their team can we win.

I have to laugh at someone who thinks it's their "job" to call people out. Please, it's called being a troll in your mom's basement who is looking to act big on a message board. What a big man you are, DHS! You really put TCAIntense in his place!

DHS the last pick thrown was with 38 seconds left and we had to go 80 yards. So running was out of the question. The first pick was a great play by the safety who read the play and jump the route. The second pick our QB was hit as he released it so it floated. We did run earlier in the game but was having more success throwing it.

    • Lee would have been a good choice, also.  I'm sure Benny was involved with the decision.
    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
