Alcoa v. CPA 3A Championship

At the time I started the thread, CPA had beaten 4 teams (Giles Co., Brentwood, Milan, and Maplewood)that were better than any team Alcoa had beat. The only one of these games that were even close were 6A Brentwood. The only team on Alcoa's schedule that was better than any of those 4 pretty good teams at that time was Maryville, who Alcoa lost to badly.
2 of Alcoa's wins were against small schools they really shouldn't be playing, and the other wins were against teams with a combined 10-30 record.
My questions is, based on this season and the results, not history or tradition, why would Alcoa be #1?

Haha thanks. Now to wait for CPA fan to insert comment about CAKe losing by 28 and how is that close. I think Alcoa fans would quickly say they are the best 3A team they have faced all year.
