At the time I started the thread, CPA had beaten 4 teams (Giles Co., Brentwood, Milan, and Maplewood)that were better than any team Alcoa had beat. The only one of these games that were even close were 6A Brentwood. The only team on Alcoa's schedule that was better than any of those 4 pretty good teams at that time was Maryville, who Alcoa lost to badly.
2 of Alcoa's wins were against small schools they really shouldn't be playing, and the other wins were against teams with a combined 10-30 record.
My questions is, based on this season and the results, not history or tradition, why would Alcoa be #1?

I do know CPA played Ensworth well in a scrimmage, and Ensworth and Maryville are comparable. You do realize you have lost before, and you will lose again. Might be this year, and it might not be this year, but it will happen. Alcoa is very good and like everyone else, they will have a chance to prove how good, but they are not invincible.
