First 5 on 5 state tournament

What was the first year that Tennessee held a 5 on 5 girls state tournament. I know for years it was 6 on 6.

'79-'80 season.  I think Pickett County (A) had won it three years prior in 6 on 6, and won it the first year in 5 on 5 for a complete 4-year run.  They have a monument in the front of their gym about that group of girls,

Joe Halfacre coached at Jackson Co, he was the coach of the 1973 state champs there. He later coached the boys team and is the boys assistant this year. To my knowledge he has always been at JC.

If my memory servers me right, Charles Mitchell was the coach the first year that Pickett County won (77), and Sam Gibson was the coach the next three years.  Warren Co. won AAA and Pickett Co. A.
