jackbacker2
Connections between high school coaches and division I and Ii college coaches is important when it comes to small town kids getting chances at ball.
volahol
Just a note.... Coach Brad Dees who works with the Junior Jacket program this year and is the assistant baseball coach at Grundy lost his house to fire Friday night. He, his wife and sons lost everything. We are trying to help them get back on their feet. If you care to help please go to this site. http://www.gofundme.com/DeesHouseFire Please check my topic out about Notre Dame helping Coach Dees

vikingmania92
If you have winning programs an your community backs you like GRUNDY fans did Friday night those kids walking the halls that are straddling the fence will come out and play. Everyone follows teams that win and wants to be a part of it. Yes you have those kids that love it also. They will be there no matter what. I have been talking about the other athletes if the wins and support are there they would be also!! That's a fact! I had a losing season when I was in school and I dont remember the coaches having to beg me to play ! Sounds like a personal issue you have or you have never played ball! As i recall when the Bryants took the program the seniors they had were 3-27 so sounds like an improvement from where I sit! Have they lost some they should have yes sir! Name one coach that hasn't ?! I dont agree with every call they make but a fan is there good or bad not just when they are winning, are you kidding me? Ive seen them pull a lot of first time football players out of the halls ! As far as the kids go in the hall I know there are good atheletes up there but once again football isn't for everyone that includes other atheletes!! If a team has to go 6-4 7-3 or better just for him to play there is a good chance that kid will fold when its all on the line ! Always play to win .... definately but, if you lose do you walk off the field.... nope! In my opinion the love of the game gets you through! When it comes to going to the next level I wish they could all go but, name 5 in the last six years that could have went.

Tallahassee
I love Grundy sports and I support all the SV during playoff time but I agree there hasn't been many at all that could go d-1 around here in years! Have there been some that got over looked from all teams yes of course but those kids dont come around often anywhere around here! You guys need to ho watch Alcoa Maryville those types of teams to see D1 ball players , blackmon would be another! Like I said before FB isnt for everyone yes we got good atheletes walking the halls its always been like that. July practice and getting hit in the mouth all day isnt for everyone thats the nature of the beast! Would it be nice to have them of course! Ill say this and if you have ever played football then you ll agree! If you truly love football no coach or coaching staff would keep you away! Bcuz when the lights are turned on Friday night and your 15 to 18 years old nothing else matters!!!!!!!! great post. And regarding the "D-1 athletes" you'll notice Beav the coward hasn't replied to my post. Seems he realized how stupid that comment of his really was.....well that's a start. Tallahassee
Did anyone see a Seq. parent cause a scene near the fieldhouse after the game? If so, what was that all about? Edited September 10, 2014 by Tallahassee
SCPRIDE30
It wasn't a scene i was standing there they was arguing bout the officials calling that pass play for Grundy a touchdown. But they didn't cause a big scene. You had one Grundy guy say he was well short of the goal line then the other one say ah heck he scored quit crying
DelTavian
This thread has run it's course. I'm closing it. The game is over. I still ask everyone to come together and help Coach Brad Dees and his family. Make donations here- http://www.gofundme.com/DeesHouseFire
