Greeneville big games from past years.

2012: 16-0, 11-0, 14-0, 11-0

2013: 13-0, 16-0, 11-1

2014: 16-1, 17-0.....season still young, can the Green Devils hang 20 on someone??

Why?  We have one varsity opponent in our district that ND or CCS or SM could hang 20 on with our JV teams, but we would never do that.  Why discourage schools in counties with no real soccer rec or select programs from playing the game?  If you're padding players stats for a better chance at scholarships, it doesn't work.  Big scholarships come from select and ODP games.  Real competition.  6-0 should be a cap…I understand that 8th graders like to score in a HS game, but they just have to wait unless they're studs and start.  rest of the game is keep-away and yes it is boring and also demoralizing, but not as bad as seeing a double digit loss in the next days paper.  I don't get the gloating over lop-sided scores.

Wired, do you have a U16 D1 or D2 select boys' team?  Would love to play them!

    • Not sure how I would put it as recruiting perhaps kids trying to better their career by going to a head coach and coaching staff with connections all over college football that gets them the opportunity to go play college football and be coached by a coach with a pretty good track record.
    • Lee would have been a good choice, also.  I'm sure Benny was involved with the decision.
    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
