Per TSSAA handbook: After the 32 teams have qualified for the playoffs they will be geographically grouped into four eight-team quads. This grouping will be done without regard to district/region alignments.

So they are not supposed to look to see who won this district or who came in 2nd - when

placing them in quads - its strictly geographically. Then once they are in quads the district winners get seeded first then runner up.

BigRed, it amazes me every year (but especially this year) how much trouble some people have understanding this really very simple principle. NO one got. screwed this year!! The eight most westerly of the 32 qualified teams ended up in Quadrant 4 just as they were supposed to be placed.Lawrenceburg High School,s longitude is 87.3158 degrees West :Kenwood High School, the most western of the qualified Clarksviille schools is 87.2618 degrees West.. This means that Lawrenceburg  is 0.05 degree more west than Kenwood.

If you think  no one got screwed you have your head buried in the sand. Or you must be a member of the TSSAA.  Every year some team gets shafted in this ridiculous system they have in place. Then you have teams like Tullahoma who got blown out by Lawrence Co., then got blown  out by Lincoln Co., and they make the playoffs.

I hope someday the TSSAA will change this system, but I am not confident in any thing they do.

Randy72, what if there were 9 eligible teams in your natural quad and you somehow were #9 according to the tiebreaker standings. If they don't move you, you don't make the playoffs. The goal is to get the top 32 teams and once you do that, then you seed them.

Next year you won't have to worry about it because the TSSAA has changed the system and gone back to the old way. Top 4 in each league make the playoffs. Want a home game? Finish first or second. If you don't, then you can't complain.

Talk about people with their head in the sand! Its been all over CoachT as well as any sporting news outlet for over a year about the change coming next year. But neither this year, nor next year will reward one team over another team for "blowing an opponent out" to get a higher seed or preference for a quadrant. Lawrence County gets a home game, not a screwing!

How can the t$$aa possably justify sending a district champion to a different quad and making them a 3 seed. Then having the runner up in their natural quad 3 as a 2 seed. Plus there are three teams that would have shorter travel in the second round. If I were Lawrence I would be throwing the biggest fit possible.

define how you are going to throw a fit

I wasn't implying that teams get a better seed for blowing out an opponent. I was just giving example of how screwed up the system is.  And I have been keeping up with the news. I don't pretend to be an intellectual like some people on here do.

No they shouldn't reward a team for a blow out. But they should reward teams for a fine regular season. Other wise the 10 games are useless. Don't think lc is whining just voicing a dislike in there placement. Don't think it matters where a team is placed in playoffs. But it is is a injustice when a team defeats a team and is placed as a lower seed. Not that it matters Henry county couse there is a purple and gold train a coming. Good luck to y'all with mundord.

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
