FreeAgent11, Last Coach that came to this county from that general area of the state is at LaVergne.  I think this last year was his FIRST winning season.

Current temp HC was a mess as a HC at Siegel.  Was the Coach that R'dale ran up over 40 points on with the second and third string after the first quarter.  Only reason they got ANY points at all for the first HOME game was the fact the 4th quarter was OVER a half hour long to get a lousy field goal!

There is a whole lot of speculation about what happened with the Coach. Yes the principal did say she wanted to have 100% control over the program. There was an allegation about some mis-dealings of booster club funds. The fact is the Coach has nothing to do with the Booster club funds, He did not cut checks or have access to the money in any way shape or form . He allegedly had initially negotiated to let the culinary arts class keep a percentage of the concessions the boosters ran in exchange for their help, Because the fan merch had done so well as did the concession he allegedly told the culinary arts teacher they could take a bigger percentage for their class .  When the school board and Don Odom have been pushed for answers they only respond with" there is still a pending investigation". Funny thing is that Tim Rainey, previous Coach at German town High School allegedly relayed to Coach Shadowens by phone he was done the same way by the Principal at his School... any guesses? Yep Leisa Justus Again this is what was rumored to have taken place. Very intrseting and coincidental if it is true. What has been validated is She came to Middle Tennessee at the request of Tim Setterlund, former director of Education in Wilson County Schools and formerly of Memphis. He resigned from his job there shortly after admitting drinking then driving his county issued car  He is now a contractor on several jobs with a local High School ,,,, ANY GUESSES WHERE? That's right ... at Blackman where Leisa Justus is the principal. Funny how he single handedly won all of the bids for them either way very lucky. Something doesn't feel right on either side of this coin. All is quite for a reason...

Blaze 45 may be the first person sued from a post on Coacht. Unless you can prove the truth of your allegations you should use "allegedly" early and often.

Good luck! Lol

What I said is there was alot of speculation as to what happened and this was what was alleged... Coach said in an article he absolutely did not have any thing to do with the with the money. Itwa also publishe that the coaches discipline record was clean. 21 YEARS NOT A BLEMISH, IF hea had done something other than argue with the principal then why was it not on his record, This on ogion investigation seems like a way to force a new Coach  and hope everyone forgets it, It is a known fact that Setterlnd is a contractor for jobs at Blackman. It was in the Wison county paper that he admiited to having some drinks then driving his county issued car. He did hire Justus, and that too was in the paper The only thing that was left unclear was the conversation with Coach Raney and Shadowens...Allegedly this is what was said...

Ridge did a good job while at Greenback, but that's a far cry from Coaching against the big boys over in Rutherford County.  Don't know that he has interviewed or even interested.  I was only commenting on another guys post.

He may be a contender for that job, but he doesn't have the background I'd expect a guy to have that's being considered for such a high profile job.   Doesn't mean he wont get it or do a good job.  Just a little surprised that name came up.

    • Lee would have been a good choice, also.  I'm sure Benny was involved with the decision.
    • Personally I was pulling for Lee Hammonds to get another shot. He’s earned it!
    • Tyler Williams was the logical choice to be named head football. He served as the Highlanders’ strength coach and offensive coordinator.
    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
