CPA vs creekwood

Not many teams have an answer for Blackwell. I think he's been on cruise control the last couple of months and it sounds like he turned it up a couple of notches. I wouldn't sleep on Creekwood however. They're better than Pearl and I think they'll advance to State. Actually, if they make it, their draw might be better than if they had beaten CPA. Lexington should be in their bracket. On the other hand, the other side of the bracket will probably have Haywood and Fulton.

Agreed. I think CPA & Haywood are the only teams that can beat Creek Wood

As a complete outsider that never attended Creekwood or CPA I feel confident in saying that CPA has the best coaching staff in Tennessee. The staff showcases the players at the national level and therefore the program receives national accolades. If families are moving to the Nashville area and have a child that is a good player they seek out the best available program. That program could be a public school program or a private school program. For those that are asking for all public & private schools to be in different classifications I ask the question; when public & private school graduates go to college do they attend different colleges or are they mixed together? When they enter the job market will the public school graduates have to compete for jobs against the private school graduates or just public school graduates? IMO, all public & private schools should compete against each other if for no other reason than to show everyone that at it's core it is just kids playing basketball.

If the private school is just about kids playing basketball, then why try to recruit kids in to win a gold trophy?  Please don't play that card like all the other private school backers do.  Its all about winning at CPA and we all know it.  There is no way you get that many good athletes at one school year after year without actively recruiting and this goes for every sport at CPA not just basketball.  You will find some public programs that have a good basketball team or a good football team but for every single sporting program the school has to be winning championships year after year at a consistent level something is going on.  CPA will be the catalyst to splitting public and private because of their recruiting.  :popcorneater:

You miss the point that upsets most people. All of what you said in the beginning is true & kudos to those parents for having their children's best interest in mind. The fact that they can live somewhere else & play at this school stacks the deck in a private school's favor. All open zoned, magnet, & private schools should be separate from public schools. Problem solved! Your comparison of this & real life is a joke.

I am a parent that cares about my kids future & work hard to send them to a good school. That good school is a public school. I'm sure CPA is a good school as are many private schools but I am proud to have a great education from a public school. I believe my kids thrive in public school and will as long as my wife and I do our part. I also feel our head coach is one of the best in the state. I don't have an issue with private versus public as long as there's not an unfair advantage established in athletics by either school. Blackwell is truly a great player and if he was zoned for Brentwood and played there, they would be favorite for state in AAA. If he wants a good education, I'm sure he could receive it there as well. I know what you're thinking. What do I know, I graduated from public school. Good luck to CPA and Creekwood.

Yes but those colleges and jobs have the opportunity to "compete" for the same talent so to speak. The public schools have to play with what they got. If you don't have a point gaurd you can't just go get one. I have no problem with CPA or any other school having a dominant program in any sport, but come playoff and tournament time they should be separate .

I am a public school graduate and I will be the first to tell you my school did their best to attract student/athletes. I have never seen a school, public or private that did not recruit. Are you going to tell me that if the family of a top 100 high school basketball players was looking at moving to the Dickson County area the Creekwood coaching would not do their best to encourage the family to enroll the player at Creekwood? • Things don’t change that dramatically all at once lol. Fulton is the result of a few decades, at least. But yeah, my main point is the obviousness of all the kids he’s brought in there.
    • Ever heard of fulton high school? Things change Im not saying your wrong or right. I just think that AC is worried Clinton might catch them if whatever they are doing continues. I know he is bringing kids in
    • Both places Woods has been at have gotten better pretty quickly after his arrival. If you can win consistently in Metro while having to fend off the vultures from picking your roster clean, your doing something right
    • They typically have a handful of black kids (nothing at all wrong with that, it’s great), but these past few years both sides of the ball have been primarily black kids. Again, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, in general, all I’m saying is that the past few seasons or so, the teams demographics just doesn’t match what it has been, historically speaking. And that didn’t start, until Keith got there. That’s all I’m saying. Rather odd how that just starts magically happening ever since he got there.
    • I have always known Clinton and the football team to be diverse. Not saying its like Knox but I would say more so than you're leading onto. Maybe more kids are wanting to play for a minority coach like that OL that commityed to Colorado over UT due to Deion "looking like him"- Jordan Seaton
