I started thinking about this when I saw adalum96's Star Logo. Here is an article from a few years ago in the Washington Post. I know Science Hill had a very expensive issue with this a few years back. Any other stories out there.

So many high schools use college and pro logos, or variations on the sort. I FAR prefer original logos, such as Maryville's "Rebels" script.

(Tulsa, OK) Union and Miami (Florida).

 

Union has an agreement with Miami and pays to use the "Split U" logo. It was $1,000 per year. I am not sure what it is now. Union also has a policy to protect the Union logos and colors.

 Carter High was contacted by Georgia Tech and was told to cease and desist use of their yellow jacket logo, even though Carter is Hornets, they were using the same bug. So, at that time, Coach Heath Woods hand drew the new hornet and they have used that one since.

I read the .pdf  link. They seem to have gotten things straightened out since getting jammed up in the past.

WB has adapted the Virginia logo and made it their own. I have noticed that the Alcoa "A" logo looks a lot like the Braves and Crimson Tide logo...and the midfield logo at Maryville looks a lot like the one on the Big House turf up in Michigan.

...and the midfield logo at Mishygun looks a lot like the one on the Jim Renfro turf in Mairvul.

WB has adapted the Tampa Bay logo and made it their own. (twice)

WB has adapted the Blount Family crest slogan and made it their own. "Lux tua via mea."

Actually Maryville's Rebels script may not be original because I remember seeing a picture of an Old Soddy Daisy logo that looked exactly the same. It was the word "Trojans" in the exact same style that Maryville's Rebels is written in.
