ok, that's better. I am not familiar with your #1, but I would guess the top pitcher on a state tourney team wouldn't be expected to give up 9 runs either!

Yeah, you wouldn't think so either and he would of had same response if I said Hall was going to give up nine Tuesday as well

For the record, "interesting" is really a response. I was just making a prediction. I am not a bookie so my prediction doesn'tean squat. Just trying to generate some descussion.

I take it as a sign of disrespect of our program to be honest. Good luck though this week, it looks like your the team to beat according to everyone!

Game had other interesting events too. The NG pitcher hit two consecutive batters in the side of the face. Lots of laughs from the third baseline right after.

I was at the game and didn't see anything malicious at all. I honestly thought the ump was saying something to the first baseman at first as he completely stood in the baseline instead of just tagging the base and ending the inning.

As for the second NG pitcher hitting two OHS batters, that was completely unintentional. If you watch high school baseball, you realize this is part of the game sometimes, especially when batters crowd the plate. I didn't hear any laughs from the third base sideline as it appeared one of those hit batters was hurt and that's never a good thing to see.

The whole thing was blown way out of proportion by the official and was critical to the outcome of the game. Life's lessons are sometimes unfair. My kids have had to deal with that many times already and it really is hard to understand, but it makes you grow from it.

Rant over....

Not familiar with Peabody, I know by this site they are rated #1 on strength and success. Does anyone have any opinions or comments on them?

Peabody has only two seniors, so they may be a factor for next couple seasons.  Very athletic team.  Several players were also on Class A state champ football team last fall. Any of the 9 starters and DH can hit, so there is little relief as lineup moves toward bottom of order.  Also stingy on defense.

    • He may have possibly said that to get the best out of him. Back when I was in school word got out I was going to transfer and Coach Story popped off and ask Coach Wilson in front of the team if Maryville was going to get a jock strap in return on this trade. That got back to me and I got fired up and stayed just to show them up. Now today Coach Story is one of my best friends.
    • Dylan's Dad, I'm glad you replied. I wanted to reply but wasnt willing to take the bait. There were 20 wrestlers on the team. I may be mistaken and correct me if I'm wrong but I believe 5 of the 20 attend McCallie right now and one will next year. At most, there are/were 6 kids on that team who attend McC. That leaves 14 other team members who have ZERO affiliation with McC (outside of maybe some friends) who represented our state to the best of their ability and wrestled their butts off that weekend. That weekend was a first for Tennessee and obviously a small step in the right direction for us as a state. Congratulations TEAM TN BLACK!
