The cadet duals national tournament is approaching quickly. The dates for the tournament are June 9-13. We need to solidify a team roster ASAP. The following roster represents what we have thus far. There are only a few of the following that have committed with deposits thus far. Please respond to Coach Pete Miller with any questions or commitments. Text him at 423-595-3878 Make Note: the following list is not written in stone with regard to weight classes or people. Any wrestler born 1999-2000 is eligible to compete.

88 - Wesley Delaney

94- Cade Holloway (maybe)

100 - Cade Holloway

106- Blake Reichel?

113- Smart, Landon Wheaton

120- TJ Duncan, ?

126- Mason Reiniche

132- Elijah Hodge, Brady Ingram

138- Eli King, Trevor Brown

145- Trevor Brown, Bryce Whitman

152- Bryce Whitman, Jay Graham

160-

170- Kleoudis

182-

195-

220- Walthall

Again, this list is just a starting point. It can be adjusted accordingly, but we need to get it filled and filled quickly. The competition will be top notch, and the opportunity to get better immeasurable. Lets get it done!

Thanks..... Darren Reiniche

Darren, Blake would love to do this, but over these dates he will be competing in a dual meet tournament in Colorado (Paonia duals). As much as I love Freestyle it's back to Folkstyle and then a much needed rest. Good luck to Mason and the rest of the guys. Love to watch him compete.

Unfortunately the cadet trip has officially been canceled, and Tennessee will not be represented at the 2015 Cadet National Duals taking place in York, PA. Our Schoolboy team is currently in Indianapolis getting ready to compete, and the Junior trip is still on. I wish all those involved good luck, and hopefully the cadet trip will take place next year.

Crazy what happens when Coach Hatcher leaves. The cadet guys that are going to Fargo should go to juinor duals.

From what I have been told this has nothing to do with Hatcher being in Tennessee or moving out of state. Apparently several wrestlers indicated to the cadet coaching staff they wanted to be on the team but when it came time to pay the fees they didn't want on the team. I have been saying for several years you can prevent this problem by having a meeting immediately after the state freestyle tournament. You offer the position to the champion and go down the line of the top three wrestlers until someone accepts the spot. If one of the top three do not accept then you offer the weight class to anyone that is a resident of Tennessee. When someone accepts the spot they must pay a non-refundable deposit of $250.00 immediately. Yes, that means that kids must have the ability to write a check for $250.00 at the state tournament but the good kids that are capable of winning the state know if they want to go before they show up to compete at state.

A good idea perhaps would to have National Team Qualifier like Georgia, Alabama, Texas and many other states have separte from the state tournament. The Qualifier would be one weekend and the state tournament would be another. The Qualifier would have all the kids who wanted to be on the teams wrestle for the spots. This leaves the state tournament to anybody and the winner could even be a kid who has no interest in going on the dual trip.

The problem isn't lack of opportunities to make the team. In fact on this post there was a plea asking for anyone that wanted to inquire. The problem is lack of interest. And a lack of organization and ability to fund raise. Even with Hatcher it would still cost kids over $500. To go to Fargo would probably be close to $2,000. I believe this to be the biggest obstacle.
