Hville defeats Beech 4-1 on a complete game 5 hitter by Wacaser. Coker led off the bottom of the 1st with an HR to get the scoring started. The Commandos totaled 10 hits. Go to Beech tomorrow nite for the district finale. Williams goes for the Commandos and I would say Hall for the Bucs..

So is this the breakdown?

MJ vs Portland and Leb vs Beech

H'ville vs Gallatin  and WC vs Station Camp

?

From the meeting yesterday on the south side. Friday you have Leb playing Beech at 4pm, at 7pm Portland plays MJ. Now Saturday due to Portland and Leb having the prom. If Beech and MJ win, they will play Saturday at 7pm. If Leb loses and Portland loses then they play at 12pm, IF Portland wins they will play the winner of Leb or Beech at 3pm. The same goes for Leb, if they win they play at 3 against MJ if MJ wins against Portland. If Leb beats Beech and MJ beats Portland then Portland and Beech play at 12pm. lol I hope my notes are right....on the North side, they were at the end of the table lol and I didnt hear, except Gallatin has the prom Sat as well, and they will be accommodated. After that my brain hurt lol ....Tickets are 5 per person and kids 8 and under are free....or is it 12 yrs old.........

HVille 1 SC 0

Gallatin 5 WC 4

Beech 4 LHS 0

MJ run ruled PHS , I believe 13-3

Right we were up 3-1 in the 3rd, and our pitching ran out....The kid we threw tonight got his second varsity start on the mound. He actually threw really great. The score was not indicative of how we played tonight. 2 errors in the outfield at a bad time, and we just dont have enough to over come it. Great attitudes though, and MJ has by far the nicest field in our district. Coach P has done a great job with it.

    • I went to practice yesterday and liked what I saw for the most part. Derek and crew have done a good job during the off-season. I was very impressed with the size of some of those boys on the offensive line. My only regret was one of the boys I was really pulling for to have a good year was dismissed from the team. I have to applaud the coaches for setting examples for the others, no one is bigger than the team. One other thing, I was hoping with that big rain we got this week some of that  yellow paint would dissolve but it didn't.
    • Couple of thoughts: 1.  I just don't understand all the intricacies in TSSAA transfer rules anymore.    William Blount had a kid that played the final part of the basketball season with them this year,  that played at Hardin Valley last year, and played football for Bearden this year.  I say that to say, I know the coaches and the AD and the Principal at WB and I will never believe they would do something they knew was wrong.  They are men of character.  I BELIEVE the same thing about the coaches and administration at Maryville.  Call me gullible, but these are men and women of integrity in my experiences with them. 2.  Much like the transfer of the Clemmer kid a couple of years ago, with Smith, the football team is getting a huge boost, but the impact on the basketball team will be just as great or maybe even greater.  With Smith playing post, it frees the Sigmund kid who will be coming back from injury, to play more with his face to the basket.  The Rebels basketball squad in my mind, will be "the program" in East Tennessee next year.
    • Could not agree more. After this year, McKenzie's new coach will have their work cut out for them. Staying in 1A would definitely be a huge plus. Most years there is not much difference in the top 5- 1A and 2A teams across the state, but after the top 5 or so there is normally a huge drop off for 1A. Regular season region play is a lot easier for 1A in West TN  right now.
    • Word is Jason Maxwell will be new AD - he is currently head baseball coach. Also heard Roc might be headed to Pope as an assistant coach.
    • you must not know how tssaa operates lol
