Haven't gotten to watch Oak Ridge yet this season.  Know they lost some very strong seniors including a wonderful scorer.  But they have another playmaker back and strong group of juniors.  May overall be a slight step behind the Farragut/Maryville/Bearden group this season, but should still be the class of their district.

Thanks! Think HVA will be down this year?

Good news from the Border Classic Soccer Tournament ... Oak Ridge defeated Aiken, South Carolina 8 - 0. Tomorrow they will play Hoover of Alabama. Knoxville Farragut fell to PAIDEIA 3 - 2. The Admirals now play Lakeside Evans. This tournament is being played in Georgia near Augusta.

Awesome. We are playing without our best player, too. Jose Rodriguez hasn't played either game and we are 2-0. Austin Vinyard is a great player he's only a JR and we have some very athletic defenseman.

The Border Classic website had the score posted wrong but they have since fixed it. It was actually a loss 0-1 for Oak Ridge. ORHS plays Atlanta International today and could possibly play Farragut tomorrow. Here is the link to the schedule: http://soccer.sincsports.com/TTSchedules.aspx?tid=RBCLAS&year=2016&stid=RBCLAS&syear=2016&div=U19M01

Well, crap! haha. Thanks for the website!

Sounds like OR and Farragut playing some great competition from the Atlanta teams and will only  get better for doing so.

HVA lost probably the best striker and best defender in the county to graduation as well as other strong seniors.  But they (like OR) will always be good, even if a bit "down".  They have two very strong goalies and lots of good underclassmen.

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
