The rumors referenced earlier are true regarding Fayette Ware and the playing of an ineligible player.

 

The TSSAA has ruled that Fayette Ware played an ineligible player in its last seven district games this season and will have to forfeit those seven games. This ruling will change the seeding of the district tournament and the brackets.

 

As it stands now, with the updated records, South Side will be the number one seed followed by Lexington, Bolivar, MCHS, Chester Co., and Fayette Ware. Bolivar will face Fayette Ware in a first round elimination game in Bolivar. McNairy will now host the Chester County in a first round elimination game in Selmer.

 

The player for Fayette Ware in question had transferred in from Arlington and violated the TSSAA's residency rule. Fayette Ware submitted information and documentation to the TSSAA yesterday after being made aware of the possible violation last week, and the athlete in question was confirmed to be ineligible and will not be able to participate in the postseason.

We wasn't trying to cheat and we didn't recruit him neither. We just didn't read the bylaws clearly. We told all of the coaches in our district Saturday morning. So everyone knew this information days ago. We will take our punishment and get ready for Thursday.

FW will be pissed now. Still think they end up in the championship game.

dmm88 is probably saying they will be pissed, meaning they will come in ready to prove that it doesn't matter what seed they are, they can still win. I'm guessing that they thought everything was fine. Surely they didn't play the kid knowing he was in eligible!? Someone from FW stated in an earlier post that they were trying to cheat they just didn't read everything clearly. Honest mistake.

The only game changers I have seen on their team this season is York. I am hearing that the kid didn't even log a whole lot of minutes
