Sevier County Football

This county has only 1 top tier program. They are the Bears. The others are full of kids that dropped out of SC program because they couldn't cut it. Seriously I just got a Murphy book and counted no fewer than 20 kids that are now at other county schools. Of those maybe 0 would even contribute on this Bears team and they are young. It was wise to move so they could play but it is obvious enough to me where the players are. Sure they have a couple kids at PF and NVA that would help but they were never Bears before. Now will some of those teams have a better record this year maybe. But that's just because they don't play with the big dogs. Bears will be ok but like I said already it will be at the end of the year when it shows. Cleveland West oak ridge DB mo west etc will be tough but they would demolish the other county teams every year and this year would be no different. Bears are capable of a region championship again & if they stay healthy could be a tough out until they meet the wild cats or rebels again that would be 2nd 3rd round the other county schools have never got out of second round and they play cupcakes.

They could win out if they can beat Elizabethton and PG. Getting all 22 starters would be a big boost for any program. If they do will that do any damage to Sevier County in future recruiting if the new kid on the block puts out a winner year in and year out. I figured when they started that school they had a good system in place for winning football.

I watched PF beat Northview like a dog last year on Packer Vision's game of the week 48-6 and could of been a lot worse. Unless he lost all 22 starters I can't imagine that happening. PG the last time I heard was getting a kid that was a very good player that has been through the Maryville system when he was younger. I had talked to the kids mother this spring and she told me at the time he was going to play football for them this fall. I do know when he was younger he was the best player on the team. Sevier County does have a real good coach. They sure fooled me last year making it to the state but they did have some real good kids last year. I seen them in two scrimmages where they got turned everywhere but lose in both games and I really under estimated them from that point on but I sure was proud of them to make it far as they went.

Yes it was a surprise but they had some good players. They lost a bunch from last year. And I really don't think there is many tools in woodshed for the Bears this year. That's why I wanted to start this thread to hopefully give the other schools a time to boast and place a flag. It's been awhile since the other schools have seen sunshine being under the shade tree of the Smoky Bears. And I think it could be a year where Lingo could show what a good coach he actually could be. Which I have faith in his system. And he sure is a class act guy from what's on the grapevine.

All I'm going to say is that three years ago I went to see Maryville's freshmen play Sevier County and the game was a total mismatch. The other big thing I remember is they only had 22 players and that's when I did a lot of digging and found out that it was Northview's first year which took some of the kids that would have went to Sevier County. Things change in three years but my gut told me then it would take a lot for Sevier County to recuperate from a hit like that. I saw it happen before when PF opened up and it took a while before the program recovered. You can go back to the year they won the state and shortly after PF opened up and the football record took a nose dive for a while. I tend to believe history will repeat itself again.

NVA has a good front and good coaching but skill guys are avg even at the 3 a level. PF will put it on them again Biamonte for PF is the real deal and NVA will have no answer for him. GP will be way down and Seymour will be avg at best. PF should be pretty good again they also have good coaching and they have some play makers. Who is TKA?
