Camden at Waverly

The season is finally here! Early test for both teams....Senior class is loaded with talent.  Offense has a legitimate passing game and isn't afraid to air it out.  Defense has several ball hawks in the secondary when Waverly slings the ball. Special teams is solid.  We may be the fastest team Waverly sees all year.  Of course, I favor the Lions in a close one.

What I like about Camden Central is if they lose this game, they won't panic. What I like about Waverly is that Matt McConnell is undefeated as a head coach against his own high school, Camden. This is always an interesting game as it is a huge rivalry, and has been ever since the two schools started playing each other in the 1930s. The rivalry grew when the parents began working together in the 1950s and 60s at the industrial plants on the Waverly side of the river, and there have been times when when it got ugly. I don't know much about either team this year, but usually the records don't matter because both sets of young men will play their hardest in this game. I'm picking Waverly at home for two reasons: they have won two years in a row, and they are playing at home. I still have hopes of the Lions' bringing home a win.

Anyway I saw a bit of Waverly and they look pretty good Young QB was spot on the money and the defense looks good The Oline is a bit  suspect in pass protection but when he gets it out that fast who cares .

 

Camden will have to hold on to the ball when they throw it or we will be punting quite a bit. Pass protections been shaky but when we run it we run it well. quite a few different ball carriers so thats great.We couldnt match what DeShawn did for us but we did get his little Brother who is stinking fast

 

If we dont catch the ball and have snap issues then we will get spanked out of the stadium but if we play up to our capabilities then I like our chances of ending the 2 year skid vs the tigers
