Metro 2020 Top 5 Teams

Pearl-Cohn:  will be a force in 3A and got their season off to a great start with an overtime win over a tough 5A Hillsboro team.

 

Cane Ridge:  they are one of the better 6A programs in the state and got their year started strong with a 47-7 win over Overton.

 

East Nashville:  a very strong Class 3A program with a new coaching staff.  They started off with a bang with their 51-6 pounding of Maplewood.

 

Hillsboro:  a very strong 5A team that lost a tough one last week in overtime at Pearl-Cohn.  They'll be one of the elite teams in 5A.

 

Hillwood:  a much improved 5A team that got their season started tonight with a 66-0 win over Glencliff.

McGavock:  Lost 12-42 to Goodpasture

John Overton:  Lost 7-47 to Cane Ridge

Stratford:  Beat Hunters Lane 27-26; Lost 6-52 to Green Hill

Hunters Lane:  Beat Antioch 39-28; Lost 26-27 to Stratford

Maplewood:  Lost 6-51 to East Nashville

Whites Creek:  Beat Glencliff 26-20

Glencliff:  Lost 20-26 to Whites Creek; Lost 0-66 to Hillwood

My Metro-Nashville "Top 5" doesn't change much after this week's action.

 

1.)  Pearl-Cohn

2.)  Cane Ridge

3.)  Hillsboro

4.)  East Nashville

5.)  Hillwood

 

I feel like the next 8 teams after this is highly competitive with one another and you could put them in any order based on the week's results.
