eers
workinprogress, MJGB is an idiot as of late. Just see his other posts. Easy to come to that conclusion. I guess the struggle is getting to him. Edited September 4, 2016 by eers
thegreatone36
^ your name is very fitting for both of those teams. Except the progress part. Seem pretty stagnant every year.

Stagnant or not, it's the only positive thing some of those kids have. Why would you even consider taking that away? That's just silly. thegreatone36
I agree on the fact that it keeps the kids out of trouble, and teaches discipline. Seeing Hunters Lane play Gallatin Friday, and GHS coasting to a 43-0 halftime score, I can't help but just feel bad for their players. They put in the work like all the other teams, only to go out there and get beat around every week.
steelerfan32
No they should not. At one time both were very good. HL still has the athletes in the school to compete. The coaches work hard just to keep them disciplined. Same with Glencliff. Take football away and the kids would suffer. Very ignorant post on your part. Go spend a day in either of those schools. Good luck. How is he being ignorant ? Both of these teams suck every year and eventually after going 0-10 or 1-9 every year it needs to be looked into the idea of cutting the program... Both of these programs have dwindling fan bases and records of the past don't matter anymore in this day and age..
FBfan26
Bleacher why put Stratford ahead of PC and hillsboro? They barely beat EN who lost to MW. Just curious. Looking at stratford schedule they only have 2 toss up games Cpa and whh. Alot of teams with that schedule could go undefeated. No shade

Sure everyone wants to win, but at the end of the day it's for the kids and they still benefit. What may need to happen from a higher level is try to determine how to help the programs, rather than just say "we're going to go 0-10". thegreatone36
Keep in mind whether it is admitted or not, a few Davidson county kids hop over into Sumner County to play. That also takes away some key players from places like Hunters Lane, that already have a hard enough time

Football keeps or just sports in general keeps kids out of trouble.

eers
People hate realism, they hate change, they hate the truth. I love truth and change. Your skewed views and opinions I don't consider truth. They may be truth in your world...just not mine. I've known people that coached at both schools in question here and the problem is much deeper than the football team. At the same token, it is a positive in their life and another opportunity for a positive mentor to spend time with them. Let's not just look at W/L and look at the overall.
