Yes, Humboldt outside shooting was off but defense played great! I'll take a 13 point win any day with guards having a bad shooting night but defense is what wins championships!!

The Vikings did have a bad shooting night. But like we heard a million times good teams on a bad night fine a way to win! My friend and I are going to JCS tomorrow night to get a look at Mitchell vs City University and Middleton plays MAHS. Mitchell plays the second game. Congratulation to the Hall Tigers on the big win. Vikings better be ready Halls has a pretty darn good team! They have got some good athletic players. UC had a good year as well. Halls did a great job on Stewart tonight. Vikings come with your a game Thursday night!

The district tournament rotates each year and this is Greenfield's year to host, if some fans don't like it...don't attend ! I heard the move was made to accommodate the Humboldt and Union City crowds. Those two always bring a packed house plus you've got the other six teams' fans to think about. UTM is a neutral site that can seat everyone simultaneously, so no one has an advantage, may the best team win ! Sure, Parker works out there, but not his teammates and it is a team game, so that won't be a big deal. This year's tournament will have a college feel to it, so it'll be more exciting when the crowds get rockin' !!

P.S. - The driving distance shouldn't make a difference for Humboldt. Sounds like some of their fans are already looking for an excuse, should they lose. Is that what they're gonna say IF the team loses at state ? That it was caused by the long drive to Murfreesboro...lol.

I personally don't see Humboldt losing .I think UC can be beaten by Halls or Trenton if they were to play.UC is down this year compared to years past.  Better hope Stewart doesn't get in foul trouble .Officials in our district seem like they let him get away with going over backs for rebounds and pushing off slightly .Steward knows how to play the game .Doesn't  take much of a push to make a play and he does it very well.If they don't call it early ,he sees that and gets away with it.We'll see how its called in the region.Would think if its Memphis officials they will let them play. But overall ,this UC teams doesn't comapare..I actually think Halls has more talent.Just have to keep Stewart from going off.

Posted 2 weeks ago Said Memphis officials will probably let them play and that UC was down from teams of past..I said in an earlier post the best thing Halls did was losing to Trenton and staying away from Humboldt until the championship.I posted that when someone from UC said Halls was done.

Yes, you were spot on!! UC thought because they beat Halls by 27 in district semi-final game it would be an easy game, that's why you got to play hard every night from this point!!

Where is that guy that was keeping up so much fuss about moving the games from Humboldt? Are they having open gym in UC today?

I may have accidently caused a bit of confusion here so hopefully I can clarify things.A Union City fan said that Humboldt would agree to move the region if Humboldt "had any balls".I made the comment I thought playing in college gyms was good prep for MTSU.I didn't know at the time but the gym in Popular Bluff is larger than most hs gyms & so the Vikings already had those 3 games + the district at UTM.Thanks to 87vikingalumni for making that point.I wouldn't have made the Bethel point had I known that earlier.I opened myself up for criticism on that which is why I didn't respond.I don't know if you're talking about him or me but if it's me I understand.lol

I think I mentioned I was an HHS alum in that post or at least I should have.

    • Yep..could possibly have 3 teams ranked in top ten in the same four team district.
    • He had an opportunity to be the OC at TC without final say in the offensive gameplan. How does that work? Smh. Head Coaches are public figures regardless of the community size, and yes there are some out there, it’s irrelevant and not fair to them to name them on here. Also why is said “head coach” the head coach of the MS baseball program to begin with? Oh because no one wants it. As for the Lebanon question, I know what I’ve been told so just going off here say, some of the boosters were not happy with his roster decisions and wanted him out. Although he lead them to 20+ wins in multiple seasons
    • A head coach in the school system? No I dont think so. Head coaches are public figures in small communities. Not trying to slander, but this is an actual question. Do you know why he was forced to resign at Lebanon? This was his second chance.  He already left trousdale once and had an opportunity to come back a couple of years ago but spoiled that.
    • Are you perfect? Nope no one is, at the end of the day there are several teachers/coaches and even some in the Trousdale County school system that have DUI’s on their record. You’re correct on it being a bad mistake and it unfortunately could have ended horribly. While you consider the consequences minimal, I can assure you they are not. Ultimately I hope and have faith that he will learn from it and use it to better himself.
