Official Declarations for Division 2

Just looking to see who has already declared for Division 2, and who does moving forward. I know the cutoff is October 14th for schools to declare.

Staying D-1

Columbia Academy

Clarksville Academy

 

Going D-2

Chattanooga Grace

Chattanooga Christian

CPA

Jackson Christian

Boyd Buchanan

Silverdale

Several media outlets in Knoxville are reporting CAK will make the transition to Division II next year.

How can a private school justify staying in D1?  Some of the things they do, hiring parents of kids to drive school buses and work as teacher aids, being a janitor/custodian at their school, being a classified employee at any job, makes them a little shady.  JMHO!

CAK and Concord Christian will officially move to Division II. No word yet on Catholic, Berean Christian, and Grace Christian. Word is that Catholic is fighting tooth and nail to stay put.

If Catholic managed to stay in D1, their enrollment with the multiplayer would put them at 1,114, which I believe would land them in 5A.

I guess the same way the Schools in Blount County can....  

 

That being said, would it not be easier to just evenly divide the D2 schools into 3 classes of 16 each? Assuming all Privates, minus Clarksville Academy & Columbia Academy, go D2. This 265-530 cutoff seems arbitrary imo.

Yup. It would be close, but that should put them in 5A.

It will eventually. There will be privates, open zone publics, and publics.
