Brilliant! I guess the whole situation is just too nuanced for you to understand. the VAST majority of publics in A/AA CANNOT complete with privates. Yes, "Booger," there are exceptions to that, but again, MOST cannot.

You see, it's basically a function of MONEY, as in how much money do your parents have? If they don't have much, there's a good chance you don't have many club players. If you don't have club players, you don't have a team that can compete with the privates.

Get it?

And please, get your finger out of your nose. It's slowing your mental process.

This sums everything up...instead of working harder ask for a handout.

so i had to laugh a little when i read this....same old argument. if a public schools says something about not playing a private school it is whining and complaining and they are told to work harder, but when a private school has to play other private schools it is not fair to private schools and they can't compete and it is not an even playing field.

we should all agree that whining is whining whether a public school is doing it or a private school is doing it and not act like it is any different.

ND is all-in on the rule change. The only reason the school didn't go to D2 sooner is because of the week day travel involved for most sports at the the D2-A level. Going to Knoxville or Nashville during the week just wasn't appealing and put undo stress on the students, not  to mention the financial strain of the travel costs. We are all very excited.

Just curious...

What private school was complaining on playing another private school?

Wow, I can't believe it took this long to get into the juicy topic again!!  Every year it's fun to keep up with the good stuff on a daily basis!!   Usually, everyone is slinging dirt in the public v. private argument early on in the season but dang it, its now the postseason and we ain't got too much longer!!  Oh well, maybe it will get a little "nuts" on here and we can enjoy the banter!!  This is my last season of this stuff with my youngest kiddo finally graduating from our little private school!!  :popcorneater:  B)

    • Congratulations to Coach Runyon. He seemed to do a good job when I watched his teams play. He didn't coach like he was ready to retire. With that being said... both coaching positions in the same district open... which one of these jobs is the best job and why?  also, it is a coincidence that they both leave at the same time...

    • good points. I guess the question is do the coaches need to be out of the classroom and get paid for just coaching. maybe move the coaching jobs to just coaching and no teaching. that would open up the coaching ranks to some good coaches that are not qualified to teach. Then you could do contracts and pay them whatever you want to pay them. move the positions to contracts.  Just like college. Thoughts?
    • It's not just DB, I don't think any of the NET big schools will ever be relevant in football.      Meaning in the playoffs.....
