Congrats to Class of 2017 Eagle Zach McCarthy (#77 OL/DL) on deciding to play on Indiana Wesleyan's first football team! Set to have signing ceremony Wednesday March 15th!

Marion Co had a DL sign with them today as well. We had 4 players sign scholarships to play at different schools at a signing at school today. That's not bad for a small school like ours.

Good luck to #77

How did it go? Any records broke this year?

To my knowledge, we didn't have any broken records this year. However, there were still a lot of promising things to take from it. The beast of the event was Duggar. He power clinged 315 and had a strong showing in squat and bench. Garrett Smith, who was not with the team in 2016 is coming back for his junior year to play OL/DL again, and he moved some serious weight as well. Kaylor, Martin, Evans, and a few others also had strong performances. Some surprises to me were Aulbrey Smith (Rising junior #13 WR/DB) and Zach Pemberton (Rising junior #7 QB). I didn't hear how much they did, but, from where I was sitting, they both lifted considerably more than the others in their position groups.

I assume the lift a thon is the same as Coach Harmon installed at Marion Co. We had a good crowd and saw some very impressive lifting. Kids were breaking records every few minutes. Our skill players really put on a show throwing big numbers up. Just a little something to tease us until Fall. I watched one squat in the mid 500 lbs like it was easy. Coach Harmon is very excited to get his men on the field.

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
