my take on the 4 A blue cross game

Is this the same Knox Central team that beat Greeneville and Fulton?

I was not impressed with Central at all.    On offense they lined up with huge gaps in between the lineman, by the time the back got to the line the much quicker Memphis D was already there.   As big and stout as Central's line appeared to be you would think that against a much smaller, but infinitely quicker, team they would line up toe-to-toe with 2 big tight ends, get under center, and just pound the ball down Memphis' throat.

Here's my guess:    Central's offense worked in all the other games because nobody else even came close to matching East's speed, and by the time they figured that out it was too late.

Do you guys think different, am I on a sound course of reasoning here??

Its a championship game. teams don't change stripes at this point of the season. If the Central team was lining up as you say, it's because that's what they do. You don't go and do what you don't normally do at this stage of the season. You line up and play like you have done all year long. In other words, you dance with the one you brought to the party. If they didn't match-up well with East, as a result of what you have done all year then, you probably lost this game before you even started.

On a different note.

You did notice big #71 and big #64 for Memphis East didn't you? They were the two biggest people on the field. #71 is 6'-8" at 300 + lbs. #64 is 6'-6" at about 290 ish. #71 went both ways, playing NG and tackle. #64 just played guard. East had other large individuals ... I don't think Central was the biggest team on the field. East is HUGE. Yes, East had some quick players, but they also had a whole lot of beef!

PS.

One of them is a jr., the other is a sophomore. I'm sure both will be playing on Saturdays. Both will probably be playing in the SEC somewhere.

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
