Pearl Cohn vs Upperman

Bees by 6-8 on the back of Levy the tournament MVP. I expect Maynard to have a good game as well since she has been fairly cold during this run.

This is what I am expecting. A close game. I think the thing that might hurt PC is what happened today. They were up by 20 in 4th quarter and let GP back in the game. They do that for a minute against Upperman, and it is probably over.

Don't start with the "oh we aren't any good" stuff. Pearl Cohn is a quality team we all know this. Upperman needs to get over the hump and finally win a gold ball. That in itself will be challenging enough let alone playing a good team like PC. If both teams play up to their potential then yes Upperman wins easily however we are talking about 17-18 kids and as we all know anything can happen at the Murphy Center.

If both teams play up to their potential, Upperman wins easily? Easily? Poor comment. Clueless comment. P-C is the most talented team in the state, not the best team but the most talented AA team. Those posts aren't incredibly skilled, but they'll make it difficult to score once Upperman gets into the lane. Shaw is the quickest player in the state. Sandifer has played well in the tournament so far and is savvy. The quiet one has been Nelson, who can shoot it from the perimeter. Don't sleep on her, or she'll have 12-15 on 3-balls. It should be a good game. Levy is very good, but it won't be easy once she penetrates into the lane tomorrow. She may draw fouls, but she won't get easy baskets. Upperman will get some shots from the perimeter. If they knock them down, it might be gold. If not, Pearl-Cohn may be the third consecutive state champion from District 10-AA.

Preppy have to be homer . This team most talented in AA . Then how in the world you get boat raced by east in Regionsl final . I love Shaw but here is whst I do and it's a huge gamble cause there is no Shaw on the bench . I X Levy with Shaw she doesn't touch it if she does she is doubled not by Maynard man though if so everybody rotates . Maynard no open looks . The gamble is Shaw gets in foul trouble . Love you alls coach just not sure she will go to those tactics because of the gambles . If not this might be a repeat of the regional final . Pearl Cohn being boat raced .

No disrespect meant to PC they've beaten the teams that were put in front of them but they definitely got the better end of the draw.  Putting JCS/East and Upperman on one side allowed them to make it to the championship game.  No way they beat either of those three teams especially Southside.  The more i watch the other teams play the more i think they were the best team outside of Upperman.  However there is still one more game to be played and you cannot take it for granted.  Coach McWilliams has never won a state championship and that has to be a mental challenge for her at this point, but she's coached in several so that in itself is an advantage as is her teams advantage having played in this game last year.  She is a very good coach and if she can get over the hump and win her first gold ball i see many more to come for her and her teams.  I know i'm pulling for her and the girls from Upperman!  Bring it home Lady Bee's its time! :popcorneater:

    • QUICK UPDATE -  First, I see a lot of wrestling names that I recognize on that GoFundMe.  THANK YOU so much for helping this family.   After the long surgery on Sunday morning to repair his neck, Jacob suffered a collapsed lung.  Sometimes this happens after long surgeries.  They had to put him on a ventilator to get his breathing back on track.  He came off the vent on Monday morning and they put a BIPAP on him to help control his breathing.  As of today, Thursday, the BIPAP came off and he is breathing well on his own.  He is working towards drinking a glass of water and hopefully eating some solid food at some point in the near future. Jacob can "feel" when someone touches his legs, but there is still no movement.  His parents are beginning to prepare for him to be moved to the Shepherd Center in the next few days.  He will be there in Atlanta for 30-45 days.  Im sure he will receive excellent treatment. Please continue to pray for healing for him and if you are so moved, please contribute to the gofundme link above to help in any way you can.  The go fund me is doing well, but this is going to be a very long road for these guys Im afraid.. Thanks again! Sells
