I was at the Huntingdon v Loretto game last night, I thought that three point shot at the buzzer was going in. It looked good from the time it left her hands. Loretto‘s defense was stifling. The Fillies were lucky to escape with a win. Their game with Summertown is going to be a good one. Both should be in Murphreesboro

Weakley County girls basketball has something special going on. All 4 girls teams played in the Region semi finals & 3 of the 4 playing in the Region Championship & Sectional game. Dresden beat county rival, Gleason, with a clutch 3 pointer by sophomore Katie Washburn. Westview, Dresden & Greenfield all have a chance to make it to the Glass House which would be repeats for Westview & Dresden & 2 Miss Basketball finalists at Greenfield. Looks like the talent will continue for at least a few more years with all the youth in these teams. Need to enjoy it & show our support for all our Weakley County teams.

Its no suprise all the Weakley Co teams are doing well. Rich tradition of basketball. Girls start playing when they are old enough to dribble and are taught fundamentals at a very young age by coaches who can COACH. Coaches in the county next door should take notice

It was said on the radio this morning that you won’t find any better girls basketball coaches in the state as the four we have here in Weakley County. Brian Haskins, Jonathan West, Willie Trevathan & Sean Stephenson all do a phenomenal job year after year. You also have to give a lot of credit to the youth league programs in the area that help develop the love for the game early on. & give credit to the  AAU programs. The majority of these Weakley County girls play travel ball in the off season to keep improving their game.

They also have some good middle school coaches at Dresden and Martin that help develop players as well. Greenfield and Gleason get the same coaches from 5th grade to 12th grade so that helps as well since they are such good coaches.

Please don't leave out Coach Tori Liggett of Greenfield.  Greenfield wouldn't be where we are today without Coach Tori. She spent countless hours with both Miss Basketballs and most of the current team with the Little dribblers and won the Jr. County Championship almost every year. Thank you Miss Tori for the years you have invested in our girls.

I completely agree with you. She was an outstanding middle school coach that Greenfield will miss not having!!

Love your coach. Fillies may be in the market for a new coach next year. Huntingdon is a lovely town with a lot to offer. Wonder if she would be interested. Lots of talent coming back. Lol

Have not heard anything about this.  Is Huntingdon girls coach leaving?
