SCIAA football jamborees set

Two brand new varsity programs will take their final dress rehearsals at the SCIAA football jamborees, which take place August 10 and 11.

Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering opens the Thursday jamboree at Crump with a 6 p.m. game against Kingsbury. On Friday at Whitehaven, Freedom Prep will square off against Overton at 7:21 p.m. Both schools will compete this season in Region 8-1A, the smallest of the six public school divisions.

Admission each night is $8.

Thursday at Crump

6 p.m.: MASE vs. Kingsbury

6:27 p.m.: Trezevant vs. Booker T. Washington

6:54 p.m.: Sheffield vs. KIPP

7:21 p.m.: Middle College vs. Cordova

7:48 p.m.: MAHS vs. Craigmont

8:15 p.m.: Melrose vs. Cordova

8:42 p.m.: White Station vs. East

9:09 p.m.: Southwind vs. Central

Friday at Whitehaven

6 p.m.: Martin Luther King Prep vs. Oakhaven

6:27 p.m.: Manassas vs. Westwood

6:54 p.m.: Raleigh-Egypt vs. Hillcrest

7:21 p.m.: Freedom Prep vs. Overton

7:48 p.m.: Douglass vs. Ridgeway

8:15 p.m.: Wooddale vs. Hamilton

8:42 p.m.: Germantown vs. Mitchell

9:09 p.m.: Kirby vs. Fairley

9:36 p.m.: Bolton vs. Whitehaven
