Marion County is nowhere close to what they have been the past three seasons. I thought they would represent the east again this year until I saw what happened. The freshmen and sophomore loaded South Pittsburg team will have to face a good junior loaded Whitwell team twice as well as a loaded, senior laden Coalfield team or a loaded, junior loaded Greenback team. I hope our kids just take them one at a time.

I'm giving you an honest assessment. South Pittsburg's young team is improving, but Marion County just isn't at the same level they have been. Their offense is very explosive, but the offensive line struggles and the defense isn't very sound. The kicking game is also nowhere near where it has been. That's as honest as I can be about it. Saying that, I think they go to the quarterfinals this season before bowing out.

Pirates are good and have a chance to be real good. Jasper is not good at all unless they just had worst game ever. This is honest assessment.

I watched some of the game and they need a lot of work.

Greenback has some sophomores and freshmen starting also. Very young ball team also.

What are you guys looking like when you are talking about young players starting. I look for some outstanding match ups like last year very soon!

I do too, we have a freshman that starts on o-line and a sophmore that starts on the o-line and the d-line, sophmore that starts at receiver and gets a lot of playing on defense. That's just to name a few.

Regardless, the strength of this year's team is the junior class. SP has a few freshmen and sophomores starting as well.

Our sophomore and freshmen classes are said to be some of the strongest back to back classes in a very long time. We're not playing many freshmen, but several sophomores and juniors are playing quite a bit.

We are junior heavy with a few good seniors. But but some of our younger players will catch your attention real fast.

Huntingdon in my opinion is the best team in 1A and it's not that close. The Mustangs should be ranked number 1. Whoever comes out of the east will have their hands full. I think alot of people are discounting the west this year. Not alot of talk about the schools in the west but there are 3 or 4 that I would bet that are just as good or better than the teams in the east. Good luck to all teams.
