I wasn't saying that CA is still loading up on athletes from other counties. As a matter of fact I was implying that the drastic drop in numbers would lead one to believe just the opposite. I did hint that CA is still reaping the rewards of players that had come to them under different ways of operating (at least for a few more years). Drop from 50 players down to 35 and we can believe it's a down class or two. Drop from 50 to 18 and we can assume CA has lost their means of pulling athletes. Especially since your enrollment is now at an all time high.

Factor in the increased attention/suspicion/allegations in the county concerning past practices by some coaches/boosters and you see the impact.

Gotcha... Maybe we just looked like we had 50 players but I just checked & counted the kids. I don't know about this year but was told we were in the 20s and then here are the numbers from the last three years of Middle School Football teams 2016 -29 players , 2015-28 players , 2015-29 players. Again it's another assumption made about CA that isn't true. The numbers did not drop from the 50s to teens... we barely have over 50 total kids in a grade. LOL.

I didn't count your players when there were 50, I was going by what someone that worked for the school said. Your next point needs to be that all but 1 of your players have been there since KG.

Also need to include that their MS team is only 7th and 8th graders. When looking at the number of kids on the LC sideline as a comparison, LC typically has several 6th graders dressed out as well. This year there were fewer than in the last couple, but still having some 6th graders on the sideline when CA did not when we played gives the appearance of a large difference in numbers.

The ONLY rules change from last year to this year is that a student CANNOT play any sport IF their parent is on the school's payroll, thus receiving the discount.  This affected a grand total of ZERO football players and ZERO basketball players.  What did the public schools, parents, coaches and fan base do to those kids from the surrounding counties to cause them to want to come to Columbia Academy?  Maybe they got tired of walking through the hallways listening to the F bomb being dropped with every few words, or the fights, or daddy ball, or lack of opportunity.  We have a player...maybe more...but at least one that works throughout the school year and summers to PAY HIS OWN WAY so he can play football for Coach L and CA.  Walk a mile in our shoes.

An unexaggerators, max prep shows 48 on the roster.

That is because 8th graders moved up after MS season was over just for experiencing dressing out and the atmosphere.  One of them is listed twice.  Also, our starting QB at the beginning of the season is not longer playing due to career-ending concussion, but he has stats.  Real total 44

Back to the game...it may last only two years, but this is already a great rivalry between our two teams.  Years ago this wouldn't have been possible.  Thankful CA has stepped up its effort to get good coaching to help us be competitive.  Lots of us abnormally serious fans will be tied up in knots leading up to kick off.  Ready for the beautiful drive over to Hohenwald, and an action packed game.
