How is Loretto not ranked??

TN AP Class A (Week: 02/05/18) 1. LEAD Academy 22-2 2. Douglass 19-1 3. Van Buren Co. 19-5 4. Monterey 22-4 5. Humboldt 18-6 6. Middleton 18-4 7. Union City 20-5 8. Summertown 18-4 9. Cosby 18-6 10. Columbia Academy 18-6

Clearly just going by records. They should be ranked definitely but who really cares about high school rankings?

Rankings are fun but in the end only one team comes out #1. Tonight should be some great games with two of them having huge effects on the district. Collinwood/Summertown game can decide if either team finishes as well as 2 or as low as 4. Wayne County/Loretto could decide as high as 1or low as 4. Lorreto has to play Collinwood Thursday so final outcome wont be settled tonight but picture could be a little clearer. Really think there are several teams in 12A that have a chance to make a run. Don't know much about district 11 or region 5 other than CA seams to be legit, so like the sports writers just going off scores and common opponents, so if anyone could share what they know about them it would be greatly appreciated. Good luck to all and go District 12!

CA isn't in our newly aligned Region.  We have west Tn teams with Mckenzie, West Carroll,  and Huntington join us in Lawrenceburg.  Loretto won easily in a Christmas Tournament over there.

I'm predicting an all district 12 region tournament for the guys!

Cats finish out regular season tonight with close win over Mt Pleasant. These guys have gotten to be worn out! They've played 8 games over the last 13 days. Can't complain to much, since we went 6-2. Rest up cats for district tournament. I'm predicting it will be a great tournament! It's anybody's tourney.

    • From my understanding, Jay Graham pretty much took over HC responsibilities in that game, so you can thank him. Cute Andy didn’t need help, though. Cute Andy could’ve beaten us without any assistant coaches.
    • Tax payer dollars are paid for certified teachers to "teach" and then coach. The primary job is to teach.  There are some district that ay awesome supplements and others that don't. Dyersburg and Dyer County are pretty close if I remember correctly. I would imagine that Football and basketball are above $10,000 now.  I've heard that Milan is $20,000 for boys basketball. I would imagine that football is more than that in Milan.  Collierville has camps that coaches get paid extra for. 3 camps a year, 100 kids a camp, $30,000 right there.  There are places like Memphis-Shelby County schools where the supplements are garbage even for the head coaches. I made less than $3,000 as the head assistant at Germantown in 2015 when we were 26-4 and one of the best teams in the Southeast. As a head middle school coach next year I will make between $4-5,000 at a municipal in Shelby County.  Coaches should be compensated for the jobs that are required but lets keep in mind that they are educators first.  It's pretty frustrating to other teachers that work their tale off teaching 6-7 classes a day to watch someone roam campus, not teach (or have very minimal responsibilities), and get paid the same (more with supplements) as a person who has the some years of experience or sometimes less.
    • This will get coaches leaving the profession very quickly if this kid wins this case. This is absurd...
    • yeah money aint right there anymore
